BMW and M Power Owners

Check you have all the prerequisites:
Prerequisites for the installation
▷ The vehicle battery is sufficiently charged.
▷ Outside temperature is above -10 ℃/14 ℉.
▷ Vehicle is standing on level ground.
▷ Hazard warning lights are turned off.
▷ Selector lever position P is engaged.
▷ Drive-ready state is turned off.
The only unknown is whether the vehicle battery is "sufficiently charged". The car doesn't seem to indicate this.

Brake fluid service, winter check and new key battery. All for the pricey sum of £0.00 as I have a 5 year service pack until 2026 :D

It was through Connected Drive - so not tied to a particular dealer as such
I see, I paid £793.80 for a three year service plan at the Smart main dealer in Jersey. Smart in the UK want £900 for a three year service plan…

Servicing EVs is cheaper obviously. We only pay 5% GST instead of 20% VAT in UK so the price I paid about right. They didn’t want to do it for £756 as listed on their website as they’d lose some of that to GST, if they were making a huge profit I’m sure they could have absorbed the GST.

No wonder you rarely see a Smart these days if they cost £900 for 3 years servicing. Its supposed to be a cheap to run city car. I doubt you'd pay that for 3 years servicing on a new Porsche 911.

The Smart main dealer in Jersey is also the main dealer for Aston Martin, Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes AMG, Audi RS and BMW Power. They don’t even offer service plans on those as the parts cost more I guess.

Errr mine is main dealer servicing.
Ok its when you said "It was through Connected Drive - so not tied to a particular dealer as such" made me think it wasn't main dealer servicing.

EDIT: Just googled connected drive now I understand, my bad sorry!

Wow, I paid £627 for 5 years!
I’ve just checked BMWs pay monthly service plans. You’ve done very well. BMW want £45 a month for 36 months for M models. That works out at £1620 in total for a three year plan.

You’ve got five years for £627! Simply outstanding, I presume there’s no difference between your plan and the three year one linked to above apart from yours being for five years.

A standard 5 year service package for a BMW 3 series is £895. In 2021, they discounted these on Black Friday and that's how he got the price he did.

The Smart package really is very expensive, that is the issue here. It's supposed to be a small cheap to run city car, yet it has servicing costs that are higher than a 3 litre BMW?

Indeed, quite why servicing a Smart car is so high is confusing.

We talking about an M3? Would that get the £895 package?

I'm confused because the £45 x 36 is only for the M3. Otherwise it is £25 x 36.
