BMW and M Power Owners

Considering it was a recall for a problem I'd expect the car to be returned in a better & healthier state than it was handed in tbh.

probably depends what the error code was ? if it said idrive/ccc reset for unknown issue that is symptomatic of impending hardware failure,
but a firmware upgrade, might thermally stress system, which has been rumored to accelerate that failure, what do you expect dealer to do.
The error code was:
ENT HU-ENTRY 0xB7 CID: Image data invalid or faulty
RYN NAV-HU F8CB
AV

What size screen is it? Has a larger pro screen been retrofitted at any point? If so it may be looking for the incorrect size screen, hence it now being blank.

It has the larger screen, not as far as I know but I purchased the car used so it is a possibility. Do you think the issue is that the recall has reset the coding back to factory settings?

Any advice on whether next BMW should be a diesel or not? Usually do 15000 miles a year, thinking 330d Touring but maybe hybrid more sensible in the long run?

Depends where you drive and how long you’ll keep it, IMO.

Cities, for example, are slowly making it more difficult for diesel owners.

So the longer you have it, the trickier it’ll be.

If you’re buying a new car I wouldn’t be getting a diesel. Second hand diesels are hard to ignore though because they’re generally better specced/easier to find, as a result of being more popular.

The BMW 3L diesel is also a fantastic engine, so hard to ignore.

Wouldn’t say there’ll be much in it fuel economy wise atm, due to cost differential.

seen this one not too far from me, might have a look tomorrow. Not checked on lease prices yet.

Well looks like I’ll be getting rid of the 320i it’s only done 30k miles and the turbos gone and due a major service £1200 turbo second hand fitted and £400 service, WBAC offering me a little more than I paid so might just run for the hills.
