BMW and M Power Owners

Terrible launch... Every time? Heh. E46 is just great to launch in a manual and consistently too.
Yeh I can imagine grip is good with the extra 150kg of roof pushing down on the rear wheels. But in the standing starts you can see Matt launches the e46 perfect

Terrible launch I can only assume. It should be 1/2 a sec quicker over the quarter mile. A dct would be gone but since when have these cars been about straight line speed

It did multiple runs and pooped the bed every time. Mind you it could be the driver.

New 2 series moves the climate controls to the screen, and not in a useful way either... "Basically all of the climate controls have been moved to the screen, and not in the most intuitive way"

(thumbnail actually highlights one of the many issues with this new shape, that rear arch area looks like it was bitten by a bumblebee and an allergic reaction took place)

Same for all new models including 3 series LCI

It's a shame, if one thing should always stay to physical buttons is climate controls. Nobody wants to quickly adjust something by faffing through menus.

Yep it's not practical, it's a step back in usability. The worst thing is the heated seats that now sit in a sub menu, rather than just a single press of a physical button

nonetheless, presumably you can speak to the car and change the climate configuration ;
the demographic who like this Alexa **** won't mind - but, the voice recognition needs to be good, I shall say this only once

whilst I like physical buttons also looks pretty simple to me left right temps at bottom, heated seats left and right fan speed and fan position whats so difficult?

The screen is multifunction.

Test is can you take a quick glance and complete the action. Much easier and safer with physical buttons and muscle memory.

It's not as annoying as it seems, as you can always say "Hey BMW, set temperature to X"

I had an i4 for the day on Saturday, and it did annoy me at first, but I quickly got used to it.

There are certainly worse things about the system, such as how overcomplicated and how MANY BLOODY APPS THERE ARE. Was so tricky finding basic settings for the car.

i want to know which beasts of people are constantly changing their HBAC settings. I at most change the temp up and down half a degree from time to time but otherwise leave it completely alone in auto, as it just moderates to a fixed comfortable temperature. I really couldn't care about it being in a menu.

The only thing that's regularly used and hidden by the menu is heated seats, but that's easy to change by voice, and the menu looks really straight forward and easy to use there? Assume you can use the idrive controller to change settings too?

I do change the temp but at most by 2', otherwise it stays in auto. Heated seats used regularly too.

Depends on your car too, in a convertible it's not uncommon to change the hvac often depending on what it's like outside and how much heat/cold I want on my legs/face or whatever - For that, physical buttons takes no eyes off the road as it's all muscle memory. How effective is voice control when you've got the roof down driving on a dual carriageway etc?

Had an M Performance rear diffuser fitted along with quad exhaust tips. I quite liked the OEM trapezoidal 'fake' exhaust surrounds but this combination is now growing on me. And yes - I know the car needs washed.........again!!

Putting my order in for the AC Schnitzer ACS3 ECU performance upgrade next week. Will likely go with a full exhaust system from them too, but need to take it one step at a time, or the missus will start asking questions :D
