I called Adrian Flux who I was insured with before, I got passed around a few smaller firms until one of them gave me a sensible(ish) price ended up being a company called AIB.

I've learnt recently how rare these are, so very pleased to find one in such good condition, only has 55k miles on the clock and full service history from the dealership in Japan. I've done a lot of research on the engine after reading about expensive potential problems, sounds like doing very frequent oil changes can keep on top of most issues though. Currently sitting at 22mpg since I've got it.. so as expected.
 
I decided against it, it's a 4h round trip and as you say the weather doesn't look amazing. Going to drink beer and watch the F1 and Rugby instead.

Having sold my 5 series Saloon and had a Skoda Kodiaq which had the 7 seats my eldest is about to pass his test, I’m looking to go back to the BMW range as I really do miss the drive, specs etc budget is around £22-£25k I’d love to get something a bit special but not obscene with regards to insurance, I’m 48 in October with a clean license, something reliable (obviously) not really looking for an estate but would not dismiss one! Any thoughts/guidance would be amazing!!!!

440i Grand coupe with MPPSK gets my vote.
You may find one in your price range.

Doesn't happen unless in Sport mode.
I don't think they're exaggerated either.
Only pops now and again when on S+ and transmission in Sport for me.
Unless you're referring to the burbles in that short video? That's not pops and bangs.

The MPPSK makes the 440i imo - without that added theatre, it becomes a bit too 'smooth GT car' but then is the F3x platform particularly good for that? Many would argue not and those who would might also argue the 435d does that job equally well.

sport mode is for the start and end of the journey, just for the noise and to show how "gangsta" you are...
rest of the journey? on eco-pro... :cry:
