BMW and M Power Owners

Blue then?
Hey yes odd they call it Carbon Black but looks blue? Same as my last 5 series ...

Lovely drive home getting used to the drive, where is what etc ..

One thing I noticed my iPhone 13 gets super hot on the wireless charging dock?

And need to get Apple CarPlay enabled as I feel a little lost without it  mainly the BMW Nav tbf

Personally I wouldn't use the wireless charger, BMW ones seem pretty notorious for making iPhones super hot.

Or just outright killing them :P

Personally don’t use a wireless charger in the car. With GPS and the higher power drain on the phone, wireless charging at the same time always causes the phone to get super hot.

I typically use low powered wired charging, just to maintain battery level.

To my eyes its a really lovely dark blue but yup, they call it black!

This means you won't get navigation instructions in the head up display which is probably one of the best things on the car. You have everything you need displayed in front of you and don't need to take your eye off the road.

I've got a "Journey" Magsafe charger which is perfect in that case! ;)

I have to say when you put your foot down being an xDrive into corners its like your on rails :D took my older sons up the motorway!!

I don't tend to bash my cars about and drive more like a chauffeur when I have my younger children in the car but its nice to have some power when needed!

The BMW Nav seems clunky and I did miss a couple of turnings on the way home! And the traffic updates were confusing, maybe I have been using Waze/Google Maps too long...

Maybe I should persist

Does the car have a head up display? Not sure how you could miss a turn as it's right there in front of you projected onto the road, rather than having to look over at the screen.

Yes it does! I’m alway second guessing myself when I’m in an unfamiliar area

Deposit put down on the 22k miles 21plate Donnington Grey F90 M5 Competition. Pick it up next Friday. Will miss the noise of the E63S as the M5 doesn’t sound as good

Hey peeps. Is there a set of circumstances that need to be met before stop/start kicks in? I was out today, car hasn't moved since Wed 17th (was really cold that night). So 3 days later and I'm using the car today - I checked my stats in the app and my various journeys totalled about 30 miles. Maybes about an hour of driving. Car was reporting the temp at about 7ºC. And yeah, stop/start just wouldn't work. At one point of the journey I was sat at 4 way temp traffic lights and so it was an ideal time for it to kick in but it never did. It was crossed out on the dash. Thanks. :)

EDIT. Probably should have read the manual first before posting lol.

Well all those conditions were met so what else could it be.

Wasn't on a gradient, wheels were straight, auto hold applied, bonnet was locked, traffic was stationary for ages, lever in Drive, engine was warm and at temp, cabin temp was 19-20ºC, outside temp about 7-8ºC.

Guessing low charge state? If so, any ideas how long it takes to charge?

Maybe because it’s been pretty cold recently, that the battery is suffering as it’s a bit weak which is why the charge level has dropped. Depending how low it is it can take about an hour

Thanks. I'll be using the car again Monday for a similar journey so hopefully that'll coax it back to life.

Fitted my AliExpress dash cam today that fits behind the mirror and takes power from the rain sensor. Pretty happy for £40 inc delivery

Oddly enough, so do i with my 2017 m240i. I had similar issue with coolant warning still appearing after topping up. Took me a few top ups for it to go away, and not bothered me since.
I've been driving a lot more over the last few days and coolant level has remained normal, so looks like I don't have an issue anymore.

Think mine was due to a faulty coolant tank cap.

It wont fully charge from driving alone. You need to put the car on a proper charger to maintain the battery properly. I charge mine up twice a year and its suprising how long it takes to fully charge the battery even on a dedicated charger. This is the reason people think batteries only last four/five on BMWs years because they never maintain them.

I charge my car battery all the time with a smart charger, and our fiesta as well, because they're both used infrequently and for short(ish) journey's as well. A smart charger will help to maintain the batteries condition increasing their life.
