BMW and M Power Owners

Other than regular consumables, are there any specific mechanical or electrical points to check out on a 2020 (69) X4 M40i with 60K miles on the clock.
Known issues or mileage related issues etc?

Thx
Bintos

I'd want sparks done

Provided the car has full history and has been serviced in accordance with the specification, I don't think this would be important. They'll have likely been either last year if it was done based on duration or at about 35-40k miles if done based on mileage.

I don't know why you'd replace them again until they are due.

I meant, I'd want them to have been done. At least once as it's 60k.

Had photos of my car sent today from what the scum bags did to it and as you can imagine it doesn’t look well. Not sure if they will try repair or just write it off yet still waiting on an engineers decision. They did say it wouldn’t move and was stuck in gear also so I’d assume if the box is knackered it’ll be wrote off.

Had the warranty renewal through on the M3, up to £932 from £875 last year, which had already increased I think. Comprehensive, roadside assistance, and £250 excess. At least the road tax isn’t over £600 this year.

I suspect I’ll change the car next year, having warranty should make a private sale easier as I’ll be able to transfer it.

How much would you be looking for?

No idea, depends what prices do. There’s one for sale with very similar spec to mine for £38k but I think it’s on the higher end of the price range and I’d say mine has better history plus transferable warranty.

I want a G81 Touring but I’m waiting for prices to soften a little, and I need to take one for a drive to see what they’re like.

I put this in another thread, but I've just rejoined the ranks with a 330e:

It's really lovely. Virtually everything I hoped it would be.

One minor thing I'm struggling with - the lane departure thing seems to be on still. I tried disabling it in the menu, but it seems not to stick even though it says it's disabeld. Any hints?

It comes back on every time you start the car. Every. Single. *******. Time. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't so bloody intrusive. Easily the worst system of its kind I've ever used, and it's even worse in the wet when it seems to think some random reflections are a white line and it craps itself. You can have it coded out using Bimmercode or similar, if you're that way inclined.

Bah. I’d love to have it coded out but I can’t afford the coding thing right now.

Is anyone here in Surrey and fancy helping me out??

Mine doesn’t on my 19 plate ;)

No, it was also available as a manual.

A quick look on Autotrader shows 130 automatic ones and 50 manuals available.

Iv reset my search

Literally everything that's coming out is a 220d 1.8 not the 220 190. Either they are hard to get hold of . Iv stretched my budget to 11k and still not seeing them .

Why have they called the models 220d but stuck a 1.8 in ? Shouldnt It be 218d.

Is there much difference in the 220d 1.8 (150 I think it is) and the 220d 2.0 (190) which is better and has better reliability? think the bhp of the 1.8s are 150 so around 27 less than what I have now in my current car which Is 177

I also don't want a convertible

There is no 1.8 litre diesel engine available in the 2 series Coupe, so I am not sure what it is you are seeing.

The 140 or 150bhp 2 litre is the 218d and the 180-190bhp is the 220d, with power dependent on the engine type.

I can see 50 manual 220d coupe on auto trader..
