BMW and M Power Owners

Hard to find much concrete information but anecdotally from what I'm seeing on owners groups, looks like it could well be pretty much any/all F30 based cars. It's been ongoing for a while now, hence my saying 'finally got my letter'.
My F87 M2 is also under that recall.

Booked the M235 in for its first service, in December. Looks to be oil and brake fluid. Had a nice surprise when they told me I had a 5 year service plan. lol. Forgot they had bundled that in for me. Happy days! :)

Finally got my letter about the airbag recall to replace the fragmentation grenade currently fitted to the car, looking to forward to try to get that booked in any time soon
have you booked it in yet to know how long it will take .. can't see a recall pdf to find out.
Although I think local garage should do it before take possession of car , I don't want the purchase delayed for weeks - nearest bmw garage is in Cambridge Cambourne badlands

Not booked mine yet, chatter on FB seems to suggest a couple of hours

Was looking around at things for when the M240 arrives. I like the simplicity and sound of this rear axle system, as well as keeping the stock look - and crucially, not silly money. However it removes the active part of the stock system. Would this cause any error lights?

This is all they say on the website:
Please Note: This 'non-valved' exhaust removes the use of exhaust valves. Using a non-valved exhaust will not harm the running of your vehicle, you will simply not have exhaust sound options, however the Cobra Sport exhaust has been designed with this in mind.

It is £600 but there is 20% off at the moment so I thought I might snap it up ahead of time.

I'm not sure why you'd want to make changes like that on a brand new car with the potential arguments it may cause whilst under warranty. It's not like the standard car doesn't already sound good is it?

could also get a delete for the cabin piped m240 noises .. and just appreciate the real thing too ? (what was it ferrari did ?they have some mic's judiciously placed)

I would assume an aftermarket exhaust would void any warranty related to the engine as well?
I guess it depends on the 'exhaust'. Put in some 'sports cats' that collapse, resulting in high EGTs which can result in engine failure - for sure!
Change a backbox and the situation would be a tad different.

rightly or wrongly, the cynic in me thinks that BMW warranty will try to blame the aftermarket part for any failure that may be related to the part, just to get out of paying the repair

They can try but at the end of the day they'd have to prove that the modification could have indirectly caused the damage. Easy to do on a remap, not really a thing on a backbox!
