good sign that it has proven reliable.I used a UMIK-1 microphone to calibrate the time alignment, that made a huge difference. I tried using it to calibrate the EQ too, but it seemed to drop the 200Hz frequency right down (guess there was resonance or something?) so I tuned it manually, then my local sound guy tweaked it a bit more to finalise it all.
Can't change anything with an app on my version of the amp, had it for about 3 years now though.
yes I had subsequently scanned the audison Ap4.9 manual (and tuning guide ) and concluded they only have a wired remote control that could be used to swap between
two eq/time alignment profiles, but I guess, could equally/cheaper whip out the laptop and load another profile.
.... £100 microphone on top of the £600 ap seems steep, so maybe, first, I'd try downloading some of the de-eq/eq profiles folks already created.
funding their usb/dac input module, to enable a direct digital input from a phone to avoid all the de-eq of sounds from the oem amp, sounds more interesting than the remote too.
these AP's are sexy pieces of kit though.
with a base audio system upgrade I'm wondering if the AP would need to go somewhere in the dash or glove compartment, I need to transplant the hertz speakers I have in my old car, too.
[ Does seem to be consensus that the centre speaker is trying to address absense of a idrive control for time alignment and provide a good compromise with multiple passengers.
