BMW and M Power Owners

Came across this thread and there are some lovely motors on here. Some serious M3 and 335i envy on this thread from me. One day, one day.

For the mean time, this is my first BMW; A 320d M Sport. Unfortunately, there are a few kerb marks on the wheels since these pictures were taken and apparently incredibly difficult to repair. I can't find anyone in the area who will touch them..

I see loads looking like this on the motorway each day and think -- ooh that looks lovely, then I see the single exhaust pipe and cry a little.

That's a bit harsh. It's his money and he has to live with it at the end of the day. Calling into account his intelligence is going too far. Now if he had gotten himself into a poor finance deal and was living beyond his means I could perhaps see your point.

Some people will spend their money differently to others. That's life, get over it.

I didn't insult his intelligence, I suggested he was incompetent. Tony Blair is highly intelligent, but equally incompetent, for example, the two aren't related.

When it comes to buying cars and rational thinking, then yes, he's either incompetent, or if he just wanted the badge, shallow. Either way, epic fail.

Yes, you must be. *No insults*

You got told off, nah nah nah nah nah nah! Vroooooooooom! <== that's the sound of my 2.8 litre straight six BMW engine roaring like a lion ;)

I think I'd take an E92 320d over a ropey old E36.

Depends if it were my daily driver or not - if it was then yeah I'd probably take that too, but not at thirty grand. Or twenty. Probably not even ten.

I can't fathom spending so much on such a dull car.

In fact, forget what I said, I'll stick with my £1,500 E36 which also doesn't have nav :p

I didn't insult his intelligence... the two aren't related.

They are related, but not the same, I agree.

My point was it doesn't bother me what other people buy, I don't have a little cry inside. Perhaps is someone bought a new Gallardo and had it painted pink, then yeah it might bother me. BMW coupes? Nah I don't even flinch.

Missing the NAV was a bit silly though, I love mine.

Nah, I was referring to GCHQ, thems watchin :)

Aha, gotcha ;)

Was going to say, I don't know of any local villages with speed bumps.... In Germany with an Autobahn running through them that is.... ahem.

13.5 Clotted Cream Scones and Jam does seem quite reasonable though

What are peoples opinions on the iDrive system in a 3 series 2008 vs 2009? I am looking at a 2008 330i with nav however it is the older version rather than the updated one with the shortcut buttons etc. Would this be a deal breaker and should I hold out for the 2009 version? Is the older version as bad as people make out? I want it more for the full iPod control via the screen.
