BMW and M Power Owners

Had a **** car day on Sunday.

Went out to enjoy the sunshine and get a drink/feed the ducks/whatever. When i started the car, the iDrive completely crashed and was unresponsive. Tried turning it off and leaving it to no avail. Was a bit annoyed, but meh, i was sure it can be fixed, either by leaving it or taking to the garage - no biggie.

Got to my destination, parked up, had my drink/fed the ducks/whatever and came back to the car. Started the engine and the iDrive had fixed itself! Hurray! Wait....why does it say i need to change my brake pads?? Ohhh no, it's actually saying there is a fault with one of the brake pad sensors. Great. Oh well, nevermind, BP sensors are cheap, no biggie.

Then i go to leave the car park only to scrape my side skirt whilst trying to leave a car park (there was a a massive incline for the exit - ridiculous to have in a car park). Stopped the car as soon as i heard the scrape. I didn't know whether to try and keep going or reverse. I reversed. Ripped off a couple of lugs, and it also ripped off the front jacking point on my car.

I was raging. It was such a moronic way to design a car park. Why oh why would you have such a hill/incline at the exit of a car park?!

And as usual, fixing cosmetic stuff on cars is often much more expensive than fixing mechanical :(

ouch :( :(

my idrive is also currently telling me i need to change both front and rear pads despite the front being new, BMW couldnt find anything wrong with it and said i need new rears in about 5k miles.....i need to find a new dealer.

Tax Evader, were you on the A500 about an hour ago? I got let onto the A500 by an M3 GTS, must say it sounds gorgeous and that was just cruising.

Sad to say, I don't think my 1.4 Clio would keep up :p

Well I would have never thought I would post in a BMW thread or even post about owning a car (which I don't as I don't drive) but on Friday my missus collects her company car for her new job as a sales rep. She will inherit a 320 diesel estate, 60 plate (is that the newer plate? Deffo not 06 plate) if I remember correctly. £24k list price. We are not sure on spec or what it has or doesn't have. So on Friday its a case of going for a drive and testing it all out. She is quite excited about it as she has only had cheap second hand runabouts before. So having a big motor is a huge change for her.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what sort of car it is. I have never taken much interest in BMWs so I don't know much about them.

It could be a 318D or 320 ED (Efficient Dynamics) as these are the bread and butter company cars. It'll be pretty basic inside i.e no iDrive, cruise but it will probably have Bluetooth as standard.

It couldn't be a 320d ED as they did not offer them as a Touring with the e91.

Came across this thread and there are some lovely motors on here. Some serious M3 and 335i envy on this thread from me. One day, one day.

For the mean time, this is my first BMW; A 320d M Sport. Unfortunately, there are a few kerb marks on the wheels since these pictures were taken and apparently incredibly difficult to repair. I can't find anyone in the area who will touch them..

335i envy and you drive an LCI 320d? You could have had an e92 335i for way less than yours cost and even doing reasonable miles wouldn't have cost more lo fuel than a new one loses in depreciation.

The 335i was within your grasp :(

I think there was a thread about that and he got a lot of stick!

Part of the reason was because he wanted a new car I believe...how long did that feeling last I wonder :p
