BMW and M Power Owners

Diesel economy is amazing though:

Nice economy figures there. In fact, amazing. I would have usually said "must have been boring driving at 60 mph the whole way", but I'm guessing at rush hour, you probably weren't?

It was a very mixed drive, including stop start, road works for miles on the M1 and then "normal" speeds when possible.

This might sound silly but the positioning of the stop/start deactivation button in that 6 Series is by far the most logical place I've seen it put, of all the cars I've seen that have one!

First time I've noticed :)

Just makes a bit more sense to me than having it hidden in a random place somewhere on the dashboard, or buried in some OBC menu.

Does the center on the new BMW's stay central when you turn the wheel?

On those interior pics it looks like just the outer bit turns.

Similar to Rolls Royce ones.

Any ideas appreciated.

This seems the best (to me) palace to ask, somebody give 'Fox a nudge please! :D

And WTF is up with the picture quality on my iPhone 5, I don't know! :o

I'm not sure what is going on with your iPhone, but thats definitely the external temperature probe :)

What does the SYNC button do on your Aircon? Does it make you control both sides at the same time? I must admit on my new 330d its annoying that i dont have a button that lets me do both at the same time, i have to manually change one side then another.

Yep, that's what it does

Thanks Jez,

Any recommendations as to which parts he should opt for for the cooling system refresh? Bher seems popular....

Go OEM on water pump or at the very least high quality aftermarket, make sure you get a metal stat/ housing, radiator I personally wouldn't be too fussed where it came from, hoses as well going OEM same with expansion tank

Don't forget the captive plastic screws I don't think they come with the tank (from memory), I'd also just buy new bolts for everywhere else

As it happens i just refreshed my E46 as the coolant reservoir exploded. I went for BEHR stuff as it seemed good value on eBay (new parts, powersellers). When i say refreshed, i actually mean just a new rad and reservoir, and full pipe inspections (they all seemed fine and nice and supple to me).

That said...its only been about 3 weeks since i did it, so i cant comment on reliability yet :p

5-6 cold start town trips in traffic :D

Wtf, I have averaged 22MPG in my M3 since I bought it! lot's of town and a slight stretch of dual carriageway every day...

I'm guessing my OBD is a tad optimistic!
