BMW and M Power Owners

That'll be the end of the manufacturers warranty. The AUC warranty will still be in effect from when the manufacturers warranty expires.

It sounds like somebody has screwed up, I never had a letter telling me the manufacturers warranty was expiring on my 335i even though it turned 3 during my ownership. The existence of the AUC warranty should surely stop that?

I don't think so. I had the same with my 335d. It turned 3 just before the end of the AUC period, so I asked if there was any difference in cover / cost between extending the manufacturers warranty and the AUC.

I was under the impression that they have slightly different levels of cover. i.e. trim is included in the manufacturers and not in AUC. So you would be pretty peeved off if you lost that cover and something was needed within the first 3 years of the cars life.

In other news, my mechanic screwed up with my service today. The 330i went in for a service as I've only had it for a week. So it went in for the full service. He said to me £130. Bargain. Turns out the parts bill was £126 for the service. Ooops. He'll get a nice christmas tip though.

If he screwed up that badly i bet most of it didn't get done - there is no 'full service' on a 330i so I assume you mean Inspection 2, quite a lot of the labour time is checking things, I can't imagine he paid much care to that after realising he was only making 4 quid out of the job..

Well, by full service I mean he changed all the filters and fluids, spark plugs etc... So yeah, inspection 2.

He also went over the motor looking for faults for me, as he does with all my motors when I take them to him, and all he found was the nearside washer jet hose being plugged for some reason.

He has been my goto mechanic for years, is right into his cars (among his fleet are a couple BMW 2002 ti's, a big American hot rod style (from the 50's) pick up truck, an Evo 6, and has only recently got shot of a S4 and RS4. He is a member on a local forum, and his build threads are epic (here are a couple : http://scottishvag.net/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=52986 & http://scottishvag.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=85567).

He is known for his attention to detail, and I trust he did the work absolutely. I'm sure he has made enough from me in the past, and knows he will again in the future, especially as now my whole family pretty much go to him, that he will take the hit this time.

Well got my car back today. They think it was the battery even tho the one I had in it was about 2 and a half years old (boss brought it for his 911 but couldn't use it due to his warranty). Seems fine the couple of times I have driven it since, and they assured me it was charging correctly so I will see how it goes. Total was £247 so an amazing £3 less then my warranty excess.

My M3 just tried to kill me :p. I got in the car but didn't hear the SMG pump prime first time. Tried again and all good as started up no problem. Was driving for about 5 minutes when I get to a round about and pull out and it suddenly just pops out of gear leaving me in the middle of a roundabout with a truck coming at me in my lane.
At this point I absolutely crap myself and mentally kiss my Ass goodbye when then it suddenly just pops back into first about breaking my neck and I'm off the roundabout

So I sheepishly drive slowly when I get about 5 minutes from my house and the orange cog light comes on and it then goes into neutral again and I coast to a stop off the road and that's where it sat until I had it recovered. So far im being told to check salmon relays tomorrow and a few other bits but I get the feeling this is going to pricey.
