This better?

I can see why you opted for the 20's now - they dont look huge at all in that photo, looks like the correct sized wheel.

How does it ride? I wish they did a decent looking 18 inch wheel for the F10 - I drove my parents 520d for the first time in a while last night and it still rides noticeably better than my 530d - it's on 18 inch non RFT's versus my 19 inch 351M's on non RFT's. More refined, better at absorbing imperfections on the road surface, etc.

The fact they come as part of the M Sport Plus pack with the harmon Kardon speakers, HUD and multi function display made it a no brainer decision.

Ride is very good in my view, it's not as compliant over major ridges as say normal tyres would be, but as a whole the ride is very good, with it dealing with most road surfaces very well. I'd say it was more comfortable than the m235i was with its adaptive suspension in comfort mode and MPSS tyres.

I tried the 20's on RFT's but the ride - especially on London roads - was a touch too harsh. The 19's are a noticeable touch smoother. Having said that i'm quite keen on the 343's but can't quite find the motivation to spend £3,000 on 'better' wheels.

You didn't opt for the LED's in the end?

It was a stock car so came with the basic options that I wanted in the colours I wanted so just the standark xenons.

I quite like my 18's. Not too bad looking, except 18's just look lost to me...

They are wearing winter RFT's. I personally don't find the ride harsh with the RFT's on either the 18's or 19's though. But that's probably from coming from a few S-Line Audi's though. And other cars with coilovers.

I really like those too but after my 19 inch 332's I simply couldn't be bothered with the cleaning faff hence opting for the 351's. I liked the 18's on the LCI M Sport but the rear tyre size on the staggered variant is a ridiculously rare size for which there are no non RFT tyres, only BMW fitment RFT's and the non-staggered Touring setup is ultra rare on the used market.

So I went with the 351M which IMHO is the best looking wheel on the F10 but does carry a ride quality compromise even without RFT's.

Yeah, I REALLY lucked out, because about a week after buying this car, these wheels came up, non-staggered, with almost new Dunlop RFT winters on them, for a reasonable price. Snapped them up. As I did buy the car in November too.

Luckily, my father in law was also borrowing my car to go down to London, so his charge for borrowing my car was to pick these up while he was down there, so didn't even need to get them couriered up. Perfect.

I get what your saying re: cleaning them. But as they are purely for winter, I clean and seal them properly before they go on, then they only need a rinse really over the winter to come up great again, then a good clean when they come off again when it warms up. Much easier than scrubbing them every week.

Just has a look because I forgot what the wheels were, Style 237's

They are a very rare wheel style over here so you did very well. They are much more common in the US though for some reason, perhaps they are a standard wheel fit on some models, I saw loads of 535i's with them.

And loads of 535i's too :(

Well I am now to the tune of £800 worse off than i was this morning.

4 x Eagle F1's fitted (19 inch wheels)

Full wheel alignment on a hunter system, all 4 wheels needed adjusting...the front passenger was almost off the chart it was that far out. I suspect the previous owner used to like going up kerbs at 50mph.

Still all done and what a difference in ride and handling. Ditching the run flats has made a significant difference and combined with the alignment the back end in particular feels far less skittish than it did previously and the steering now feels so much more precise than before.

I've heard people praise wheel alignment before but I never realised exactly how staggering the results can be.

Ive found a nice nearly new one packed full of options including B&O and all sorts of expensive stuff with a deal to be done, I am considering this car. I also have a 991 at a good price but it isn't and S and I feel I would need an S and the spec isn't perfect.

I have pretty much discounted the M4 as they are too expensive for what you get and nearly new ones are showing up at 52K now for 65K cars, so will have traded for 47K-48K which is a **** load of depreciation. I have a real problem renting a car based on it's monthlies as I don't do terminations of finance and frankly this means you are going to take a bath not matter what the dealer says if you don't do a termination or run it to the end.

Buying a nice spec M5 for 48K-50K seems like a more sensible approach not least if it was a 80K list car 12 months back and has less than 10K on the clock. I suspect most people here just dive into a PCP and focus on monthlies, that isn't my approach :D

..and I am going to stick the car I have on PH and a couple of private forums as the trade in values are silly really when cars of my age/spec/miles are 21K upwards at dealers. For say 20K someone will get a car that needs nothing done, has full BMW service history, as good as new tyres, perfect bodywork, wheels and new rear discs/pad and fronts with loads left.

If your going to spend that much why not look at the m6 gc?

Or even a panamera turbo? If you are self employed or in a partnership there are some very compelling tax advantages for the hybrid.

I did look at the Panamera, not convinced and I am not 715.

Hey guys,

I have the iPod integration setup in my E92's centre console with an 8GB iPod Nano attached, but I was getting fed up of having to take the iPod out of the car and connect it to iTunes to update it whenever I purchased any new music.

I really fancied getting Bluetooth streaming working, but the CCC iDrive system doesn't support it (in fact even the newer CIC won't do it without the Combox option). You can purchase Bluetooth dongles which connect to an Aux port to enable A2DP, but you're restricted to controlling the music from your phone; I wanted full control using my steering wheel buttons and also track listings etc on the iDrive screen...cue the ViseeO Tune2Air WMA1000.

It's a Bluetooth dongle which connects to the Apple 30 Pin connector on your factory iPod integration and essentially tricks the system into thinking you have an iPod/iPhone physically connected. This means you get full track listings on screen and control from the headunit/steering wheel controls and it really does work a treat! Sound quality is also really good, very close to that of the physically connected iPod.

It cost me £52 delivered so quite a bit more than the cheaper dongles, but it's well worth it for the extra functionality. It also works alongside your factory Bluetooth handsfree system, so music pauses when a call comes in and then resumes again when the call ends.

For those of you with non-Apple devices functionality is more restricted, you don't get track listings but you can still skip tracks from the steering wheel.

Hope this helps some of you who are lacking Bluetooth streaming in their life!

This is one thing I do not understand why people think like this. I only look at what its going to cost me in total in the end. Which is why I can't bring my self to PCP a car.

If only it were 6 months ago...

I see your point but if you plan to change every few years then your paying the depreciation on the car either way.

Just because you pay say, £50k cash now doesn't mean the car will still be worth £50k in three years time, more like £35k.

Ok so I would have lost 15 k in depreciation. But if I had the car on pcp would the total payments over the 3 years not have been way more than 15k?

I'm not too clued up on these things.
