BMW and M Power Owners

Great bargain that E39, hope it serves you well :) needs a set of M Parallels though :p

Yes, would be nice, but I imagine a set worth having to be quite pricey and sought after...

I'll probably just opt for new centre caps which should improve the wheels, which tbh are in pretty good condition.

Found a local chap who will clay, Polish & wax if for £40 which should tidy it up nicely. :)

Car was detailed and protected today and has come rather nicely.

The 2 1/2 hour drive home also showed what a great place to be it is.

Find myself contemplating 328i's, and was just wondering whether anybody had any experience of the turbocharged 2L 4 pot's? On paper they seem pretty decent with 245 BHP, 258 ft/lb of torque, but I can't help but think it might seem a bit gutless compared to a 6 cylinder.

So the X5 is in for work. Started tapping Tuesday so took it straight to the garage.
Unfortunately the simple possibles have been ruled out, now it's looking like an engine strip down.
Will be in the trusty S reg Fiesta for a few weeks....

Nothing ever goes right for me with cars when they break. I get the replacement SMG pump motor from a company that has sold over 50 of them without an issue and the garage call and tell me that the motor key at the end is 2mm too big and it looks like its not been cnc machined to the correct size.

So now im waiting on the company to get back to me to let me know if the garage can just take the 2mm off themselves or if I need to wait on a replacement. :(

Well this looks like the end of the Saga. Pump was killed because the SMG hydraulic unit has seized and killed the pump. So basically it needs a whole new smg unit from BMW costing just over £3000 fitted. The cars really only worth £5500 so I cannot justify that. Going to be joining the list of SMG's on ebay for spares or repairs :(

I love mine! As I said in another thread, it never fails to put a smile on my face

The smg unit I need can be had for around 550-600 on ebay but again your looking at an unknown unit with no idea on life left in it. I have calmed myself down a bit from earlier :D Now looking at the used part costs vs breaking it for parts or selling at broken for a couple of grand as its otherwise mint. I might just store it over winter then get it fixed next year.

I've found an e92 coupe to buy, however it has business navigation instead of professional, so the small screen. Would you say it's worth waiting for a car with professional instead? I know I can update maps with professional and obviously the bigger screen.
