BMW and M Power Owners

There is a massive difference between them. Cic obviously being better. But if you have barely used cic before, then the ccc will be good enough.

Is there something inherently wrong with it that will make me be disappointed in it, even if I have hardly used the CIC version?

If you had the choice of 3 cars, for carrying a child (or two), would you choose a 2009 BMW 335i Tourer M-Sport (with CiC 2nd Gen iDrive), 2009 BMW 530i M-Sport Saloon (with CCC 1st Gen iDrive update 2) or an 2009 Audi A4 3.2l Quattro Avant (with Audi MMI Nav 3G)?

All similar prices, with the audi being the cheapest but higher milage.

It just looks like something from 10 years ago - the screen was is fairly rubbishy etc.

I had a choice of two cars about 3.5 years ago - a 2009 530i or a 2009 335i and I picked the 335i. I subsequently sold it about 3 months later because it annoyed me but I doubt an E60 would have lasted any longer.

I'd probably be going with an e61 if I'm honest. If there are 2 kids on the horizon. But then I am a tourer fan. Would also do everything I could to get the 535i.

Ok that would annoy me then if they haven't upped the res or style.

Compared to our current car the E60 would be miles better but the look isn't one that I truly like, I'm still swaying more to the 335i wagon.

I was coming from an E39 5 Series, a car I still to this day consider the best 5 Series BMW ever made. From that position the E60 just felt poor and I disliked much of it. So I picked the E92 in preference.

Ended up going back to the E39 instead until I could afford an F10 5 Series in the end. But the CIC iDrive is absolutely great, I really like it.

Not An M,

But thought id share my 318is E36 touring.

The link to the ebay source of BMW screenwash no longer works, looks like they don't sell it now.

What are peoples thoughts on this, is properly mixed halfords stuff really going to block filters?

It blocked the filters on my Z4. BMW wanted to charge me £275 to sort it out ...

Not good. Somebody else above talked about using the VW stuff as it was much better VFM

I know i've brought a "premium" car but £5 a litre is taking the proverbial...

Looking for abit of help from some e46 nerds.

Car went into bodyshop to get some work done which included a front bumper respray. The other day it was foggy and I noticed my front fogs wernt working. Fuses were fine so removed the fog to find they hadnt been reconnected which was not a massive deal but ive also found this plug on both sides thats not connected and I cannot seem to feel any plug through the fog hole that it would connect to. Its taped to the fog cables quite close to the hole so it cant be that far away and my headlights all seem to be fine and tbh I dont think they were removed when they removed the bumper.

Any ideas?

Swapped out the climate control panel in the e39 for a replacement, now have heat again. :D

I am curious though as to what causes the failure, it is a bad capacitor, similar to the problem on the e36 or a dry joint on the PCB? If anyone knows I would be very interested so I can try and it repair it and have a spare to go with the spare hedgehog. :)

Thanks guys.

F1AS2s went on the front today to replace the worn and bulging old tyres, and then as I walked back in the door postie knocked with some new "Flat Aero Wiper Blades RP9". Not being tight but I bought the same ones in October last year and they have been perfect up until last week, so £5 for a pair of wipers that don't suck seems a no brainer for me.

Call up Harry Fairbairn Kirkcaldy BMW parts (01592 657808) and quote the part number 83122298207 and say that you are a BMWforums.info user and it'll be £15.32 including next day Fedex delivery (items despatched on Weds and Fri).

Should hopefully still be being sold as they were still selling it on 1st December.
