BMW and M Power Owners

iGo is what mine seems to run actually, its really good to be fair.

Ive not seen anything to do with google nav, as it requires a data connection which i never have :p

The new versions of google nav totally suck. It used to be a handy app, but now it just doesn't work. It regularly tells you to make a turning immediately after you've passed the junction, says you are going the wrong direction, says you are in the wrong location etc.. I used it the other day and it got me lost, mentioned this to some friends later on and they all said they had experienced these 'quirks'.

On which phone? I've used Google Nav since the early days and have clocked some 60,000 miles on it from the UK to parts of Europe and Canada. The only times it has failed is when there's been new roads and junctions built not yet on Google Maps.

There was another cab I saw with OEM nav but this one doesn't and I'm getting more value out of this one with the extras and buying experience going with this dealer.

I don't mind if the UI strays away from an OEM experience, the OEM nav screen ui is dated and doesn't really say much anyway so having the Android UI skinned on the Andrive unit is going to be much better for me. Most of the time it will only be displaying the playing music info anyway and all other times Google Maps as I don't really need or care about any other screen other than those two :p

In a way this creates less faff for me because if it did have OEM nav, then I'd need to spend another £50 on a fakra cable and route it into the boot where all the audio components are located for stock nav cars. As it's Business CD only, everything is in the dash so simply a direct swap-out.

C63 pics, Sunny? :D

Pics Soon!!

Maybe we should arrange for a meet and take pics of our cars together :D

You can haggle with the dealer over the AUC warranty. I have a 2 year AUC warranty on mine as a result :)

Thanks for the tip Fox, that could be something worth gunning for in a deal. I have not bought a car from a dealer for 20 years. Been a company car man but now getting out and taking the allowance. What's the crack with negotiating a discount for an AUC from BMW then nowadays? I always recall they were notoriously difficult to shift in terms of giving any monetary discount at all and you'd be shown the door.....

I'd be a cash buyer. On a, say, £28-30 grand car what would you be wanting thrown in? Anyone know fiscal year end or quarter end for BMW dealers? Just before such fiscal accounting deadlines is always a good time to get a deal on most things.....!

So, I'm still toying with the idea of a 2009 335i (or 2010 if I can get my hands on one cheap enough), but I'm also concerned about the size so I am considering the 2009 and 10 530i's... The 09 still have the old idrive but seeing the posts about the android software, would this make the system nicer (I understand its a replacement system)? Would there be any benefit at all? Can it integrate with the sat nav systems ok (how does that work, presume you can get an app that will do the nav for you?) and does it integrate with the little joystick?

Wrong generation of car the system being talked about is for the e46 not the e90. The e46 system was a single unit where the e90 is the whole iDrive system with all the integration.

Whilst they do offers such systems for the E60 I really wouldn't be pulling iDrive out in favour of one...

Even the crappy 1st gen?

Thats the thing its not the latest sat nav system but its still integrated and can still get map updates, includes phone/bluetooth and has the car management options. Thats going to beat most 3rd party systems just for simplicity and doesn't involve you pull the car to bits to fit it. If you've not had the later CIC or NBT systems its still an "ok" system.

Just so you know, rumour has it that BMW won't be providing any further map updates for CCC satnav past the recent 2015 release.

I agree that CCC is looking a bit dated now, but I simply can't justify spending £1000 to upgrade to a system which doesn't really offer anything more than I've already got (apart from the performance increase, which isn't an issue for me with CCC).
