BMW and M Power Owners

mrk - seeing how fastidious you are with the 318Ci, your new M3 is in for a pampered life.

I'm sure you'll keep up well updated with the progress and upkeep of the M3.

Glad you got manual, much more involving and mechanical. Has it got the 19's and what colour?

Oh for sure Jez but what I mean is I've spent several years lusting over owning an M3 one day and one in the perfect colour combination and now it just so happens a nice example of just that has turned up, and it's soon to be mine.

I honestly have not felt the same about any other car as IMO the E46 represents everything I love about cars from the style of the cabin to the style of the body and a timeless look and appreciation that spans globally :)

I know I'll have faster and more powerful cars in the future but they won't embody the emotion that this one carries I feel and that makes it all the more special.

Wow, did you break down in tears after writing that? :p

Got my Daytona Violet M3 back today after having a bit of bodywork done over the past couple of weeks and going back to standard amber indicators. I'm sorting out the interior at the moment (some pics in the "what have you done to your car today" thread) but really happy getting her back in time for Christmas. I'll probably remove those angel eyes at some point.

Just installed an Aux in on my z4 07 plate business cd player. I'm getting no low end coming out in Aux mode... Anyone know what's up? CD and FM both get the subs going still (10 speaker system) but there's no bass from the Aux. Tried different 3.5mm cables and different input devices.

So I'm back home!

Let's just say I grinned from ear to ear every time the throttle was pressed down. I did floor it a few times back from Oxford but mostly cruised and observed any adverse rattles, noises etc. Nothing major to report, some extra cabin noise due to being convertible but I expected this anyway.

Car handles sublime. At let's just say "speed" my old car felt stable but this feels like it's glued down. Launching even softly in 1st causes DSC to briefly light up but the noise is really really sweet and addictive. From the cabin it's far more meatier a noise than any youtube video I have seen to date and I thought initially it wasn't the stock exhaust but it is. The sense of a mechanical thing with stuff going on with you in control is very high, the noise piles on fast and remains through the entire rev range, most enjoyable.

I drove sensibly though apart from a few bursts of excitement and actually averaged economy that wasn't far off the 318Ci and I was driving at similar speeds to that car but with far far less effort so that balance of scale seems to be working in my favour a bit perhaps.

Quick potato pic, ignore the lack of centre caps, they were not yet fitted as the alloys were just put on.

Another note, I prefer using normal mode instead of Sport mode. I know the only thing it changes is throttle response so you don't need as much pedal movement to get to the same revs but I prefer working the pedal and modulating speed and revs with decent movement as opposed to having the power so close together on the throttle in Sport.

It's only been a day of course so maybe this will change I don't know...

Wow, did you break down in tears after writing that? :p

It comes from the heart you heartless monster!
