BMW and M Power Owners

I don't think this is the case at all. I've never seen a hard top on an S2k in the summer. I put my hard top on around November and plan to remove it towards the end of March. Storage is an issue but it's not an issue big enough to want to sell it. Hopefully the hard top will make the car more desirable when I come to sell it, too.

What a lovely sunny crisp day it is today, a perfect example. Because I haven't got the hassle of removing a hardtop with another person I think I'll go out in my convertible for a quick blast.

Can't move mine until the snow has melted on our side road unfortunately:p

tbh, I wouldn't have the roof down when it's 1C. I know I'm not a proper top down driver:o

I nearly bought an e46 m3 vert with a hard top a few years ago. Glad I didnt now, I'm far too lazy for all this hard top removal business.

Hardtop on my Z4 is on Dec-Feb/Mar usually, a bit more practical with it on and helps protect the soft top outside through Scottish winters. One came up for sale locally a few months after I got the car and I have space to store it, so suits me well enough :).

Hi there

Any E60 M5 owners here?
Its on my next possible car list as I want something with big power:

The 160-200mph acceleration looks damn impressive, though not something you'd try on the road.

Any questions just shout :)

The main attractions for me are it's noise, I think the exhaust note is possibly the best I've ever heard on any car, real F1 sound, how does it sound in the cabin though?

Does it feel quick or does it's mass dull the acceleration?

How has reliability being for you?

I've been to so many Vmax events now I have gotten bored of them, even though Craig has got some fairly rare stuff turning up these days now hes started his super car rental program. Once you have passengered at 200mph+ 10 or so times it takes something special to bring something new to the table. I think you would get bored fairly quickly if thats why you are after big power.

On the M5, the seats that give you a hug when you corner are amazing. That's all I really have to add on the matter.

500+ bhp never gets boring.

500bhp is a good laugh in an articulated truck, never mind a four door saloon!!

Tbh though Gibbo, I'm surprised you've not asked somebody who you know well and has had an e60 M5, from new, and has had subsequent exotic machinery to compare with, namely Spie!

I want an E60 M5, got a normal 525i. I've only ever seen one real E60 M5, rest are fakes, spend all that time and money getting the M5 body kit but forget the mirrors or place the M5 badge in a wrong place or worst of all have a diesel racket sound.

My next car will be a M5 or one of the AMG's hopefully. At least they'll come with head light washers, something my car doesn't have despite having the cut outs and only finding out this week :(
