BMW and M Power Owners

Cheers, thanks for the detailed reply :).

Yeah I'm basically just starting to think about my next car once my flat is built.

I've been interested in a Z4 for a while (initially the E86) but the E89s have dropped a lot in price, especially when compared with an E92 M3. I know one is an ///M car, but as you say the 35is has the 1M engine and when you look at prices you get a newer, lower mileage Z4s vs M3s for the money. And realistically I'd probably prefer more of the cruiser aspects of the Z4 vs the M3 (as well as the ability to have the top down).

Interesting comments on the interior, sort of sways it a bit more for me.

I know at this sort of price point I could be looking at a Cayman, but the Z4 would be newer and probably cheaper to run (especially with the <60k miles BMW warranty for £50 a month).

Thanks again for the info, food for thought! :).

No worries, the 35i isn't the last word in dynamic handling, but I feel it gets an unfair review in the press. I found it great for smashing down B roads as well as cruising on the motorway. I liken it to a more modern, mini SL55! If you buy from BMW, you can push them for a 2 year warranty. I negotiated £1k off the price plus an extra years warranty.

I would also recommend a z4 especially if you can get a 35is, really good little cars

Thanks.

Any idea why this one is so cheap? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...rs/page/3/postcode/ab116la/make/bmw?logcode=p

I know the miles are high, but the difference between <60 and >60k miles warranty is £360 a year so seems very cheap/a bargain.

Seems like a good deal. Personally I'd like an M Sport, looks a lot better in the metal. High mileage would put me off a little.

Didn't initially notice it wasn't an M-Sport. Was just curious really, won't be buying for a few months anyway.

Have you been on holiday? :p You must have seen the pics!

He picked up the M3 and that same night it "lost a wheel" :D

Pics?

Nope, I haven't checked every thread, I saw a post somewhere here where he posted a picture of a new alloy, I assumed he was changing his alloys from the stock ones on the car he bought.

So my beautiful new BMW got pulled apart by an Ambulance the other day :(

Held together with Micropore tape now but at least they're sorting a hire car and repairs

Cheapest quote so far has been ~£1700

I knew I shouldn't have spent all that time washing it!

Did the 'golf tee' mod on the car. Can't say I notice a difference in exhaust sound apart from this little rasp which must be because of the flap. Seems to pick up a little better too.

Unfortunately, the previous owner must have tried it and he managed to bend the flap one way. So I had to bend one the same way and now I have some sort of u shape flap. It's opened the exhaust up though which is what I wanted.

Wouldn't £1700+car hire write off a 2002 pre facelift E46 these days

Quick question for the F10 owners. Just opened the boot to find the plastic box on the right hand side filled with water (see image below). Anyone ever seen anything like this or what could have caused it?

Clearly some sort of water ingress from the rain, and rather worrying considering the fuse box is above the container!

I've managed to lose the software for reading codes from my E46, I've got the USB to round plug adapter, does anyone know where I could download the fault finding/ programming software perchance?
