BMW and M Power Owners

Broadspeed, Drive The Deal, Orange Wheels etc...

£39,276 in that spec, new, from Broadspeed (roughly, just basic car discounted, then options added at full cost).

10.9% APR for second hand, 5-6% APR for new, so probably a good couple grand less interest to be paid on a new one. One less owner also, so might make a difference on residual value?

2015 BMW 1-Series Facelifted Mega Gallery, what do you guys think. I liked the older generation better.

From the article:
One of the most welcome facelifts happened a few months ago to the BMW 1-Series. The updated model gained a much sleeker appearance, thanks to targeted cosmetic changes to the areas that generated criticisms.

Looks like it is attempting to do its best Bender bending Rodriguez impression from the front. The kidney grilles are still too big for the body.

It went from being an ugly as sin car to a slightly less ugly from the side and rear but still ugly as sin from the front car, IMO.

It's certainly not a car that I will ever register in my mind on the road.

Still not a patch on a 3 series Compact.

Speaking of which, I'm thinking of buying a 325ti.

Are they any good? Seen this one locally http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bmw-325-Ti-Sport-/151626450543?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item234da4066f

Seems good value and 190bhp straight six in a small car should be quite fun?

I'd personally be extremely wary of a used car with it's MOT due yet the seller is not willing to put it through prior to sale.
A new MOT should be plain sailing in a supposed good car and it helps get a better price for it, what I wonder does he know about that one that makes him reluctant to put a new MOT on it???
Also, it's "due a service" again, why on earth advertise it without one? Just serviced is far more tempting for a prospective buyer, I imagine he's ran it and spent nothing on it, you want go buy the opposite, a cherished car that has proof of TLC.

I would personally view it as a car without an MOT effectively and as such, his asking price is a joke! He's asking for serious enquiries only, yet his price and selling technique strikes me as anything but serious.

And an HPI check that was done last year is effectively meaningless.

If you like compacts, fair enough, but I'd personally look at examples other than that particular one!

Sorry I didn't notice the MOT, i just skim read it. Looking at every 325ti sport on ebay, its by far the cheapest. Some dealers are wanting £5k for similar cars! Anything cheaper than £2000 looks an absolute shed.

The compacts appear to avoid the rust issues of the coupe/saloons and are supposed to be quite fun to drive and as they look horrible no one seems to want them. Brilliant for me as I don't really care what a car looks like, I happily drive round in a **** coloured Citroen Xsara VTS currently :)

Fair point but again, if that one is so good then why no fresh mot, it needs a service and it's supposedly cheap (although not to my mind tbh) look elsewhere imo!

Yes I know, didn't realise about the MOT - it's just very local to me hence the interest. Might be worth a cheeky 1500 offer if it checks out ok, then even if it needs a couple of wishbones or bushes for the MOT it's not a bad price

Worth a punt, just make sure your checks are thorough. :)

Went into Elms BMW in Cambridge yesterday, it was just embarrassing!

The salesman was trying to sell me a 530D, six months old and 8K on the clock for £38K, I pointed out I could buy buy one cheaper new from a franchise dealer for less than that! (I actually showed him the adds on Autotrader as he said he didn't believe me)

Cambridge is just such a useless place for buying cars, you would think people would shop around but no, they seem to willing to pay £6+K over the odds just to get in from the Cambridge dealer.

A woeful experience, I guess I shouldn't have expected any better. The salesmen said "we sell loads of cars at these prices", sorry but not to me you won't!!

Without an mot that is a £500 car as you have absolutely no idea what might be wrong with it or might be required to fix it. From reading the ad I very much suspect he does though

If the rest checks out the price isn't horrific - tell him you'll buy it for close to £2k WITH 12 months ticket should it seem decent

Sorry confused now with xs2man's post. I can or can't do it?!

It would be a chance as to whether BMW would want to inspect the car first, and if they would find it.

I would be taking the warranty anyway, regardless of whether they fixed your current issue or not, so I would just chance it.
