BMW and M Power Owners

Come to think of it, clogged washer jets was one of the numerous issues my brother in law had with his f10,I wonder what's different in the design compared to the earlier models?

This a pure guess, however the location of the washer reservoir is different in the E92 compared to the E46. In my E46 there was quite a lot of gunk in the tank, but that just floated to the top and stayed there, wouldn't get pulled into the system unless you let it get really low. On the E92 however the tank is low down behind the OSF wheel, so perhaps the gunk somehow floats upwards and into the pumps, causing the blockage?

Bit of an update to this!

Managed to find someone to swap my wheels with to try and narrow down where the vibration is coming from. The vibration persisted after swapping all of the wheels in different combinations. At least I can rule them out.

Bit stuck now what to do. Just to refresh the situation:

Would warped discs cause vibration at speed?

Is there any change in the vibration when turning in a certain direction? Also did you notice the vibration before replacing the various suspension components? Can't remember feeling any vibration in my ownership (admittedly I wasn't looking for it) and if it's appearing since the new parts then perhaps something has been installed incorrectly/a new part is duff?

Unrelated, but are you in for the rolling road day on the 25th? If you don't fancy driving it you're welcome to come to mine and passenger up there :)

Did you get any of the other bits checked?

The other thing I'd definitely do is get your calipers checked as one may be binding. This could mean it is stuck on, and you're getting judder from the brakes because of this.

OK I'm looking at 5 series again and I want my car to have and NBT and the touch module, how can I easily identify these options, what year where these options brought in.

This car seems to have a lovely spec but I'm not sure 14 miles on a November 2013 can be right!

Also seems to be pretty overpriced.

The big fat idrive controller is the touch controller, and only comes with the LCI with the NBT. The newer steering wheel is also a clever hint that it's the LCI.

If it is only 14 miles, I wouldn't say it's overly overpriced. It's an essentially new car then, and almost £20k below list price (granted, only around £10k below what you would have actually paid for it new). Seems pretty well optioned too with the HUD (which I wouldn't really care about, but is apparently better on the NBT), the Comfort Access makes sense to me with these cars (although I would have wanted memory seats too), 6 disc changer and enhanced BT are nice too. The rest of it is essentially M-Sport Plus Spec, and Pro Nav and TV. The Sports Auto is a must have, and it has it, so is the multifunction display (IMO), so that's good too.

Whilst it's essentially a new car it isn't residually a new car, it's an 18 month old car especially once you start using it and putting miles on it. So don't pay a huge premium for the low mileage.

6 disc changer isn't nice, it's completely worthless and of no value at all :p

Washer fluid as far I'm aware is made with distilled water, solvents and alcohol/ethanol/meths. It shouldn't contain any trace minerals or solids in it to clog up the pump and filter. If you mix it with tap water then you're introducing impurities into the mixture. I could be wrong though.
Agreed, but part of the issue is that the chemicals in the BMW fluid appear to cause issues with the chemicals in many of the fluids people use. I recently had clogged washer jets, which upon inspection were caused by a luminous blue jelly - it didn't seem biological or natural at all!

The new steering wheel and fat idrive controller show it to be an LCI as I said earlier.

I wouldn't mind a 6 disc changer. Not completely worthless really. To me at least. Although it is obviously far from a deal breaker, and not something I would pay more for. Still nice to have.

Is it really that huge a premium for being so low miles?

Okay, so I've plugged in (thanks pepsilol) and have the following error codes -

228 lambda control tolerance bank 2 to big

227 lambda control tolerance bank 1 to big

123 activate grid-controlled cooling

9 signal airflow meter

203 lambda control Bank 1 control block

Any ideas which of these would cause the problems I'm having?

Unplug the maf and see if it improves on the standard values, then run the live codes again, it is unlikely both O2 sensors have failed at the same time

RightO, unplugged the MAF and it started running fine again, which is excellent as with my foot flat to the floor it wouldn't go above 1500rpm.

Upon closer inspection I've found a 5mm hole in the intake boot where a small hose connects, would this have caused such severe issues?

My e46 (330) was extremely upset when it had a cracked inlet pipe. Causing all kinds of engine management problems and rough idle.
