BMW and M Power Owners

And I thought the 'about £360' I was quoted by Munich Legends for an inspection 2 for my E39 was a bit excessive.

Ive no idea, but I made 3 spearate dealer calls and they all said the same price. I will double check Monday as it's beyond taking the mick.

It will be interesting to hear their breakdown of those costs.

If you can be bothered, ECP have their constant 30% off oils promotion going, with 6.5 litres coming in at around £43 inc 2 day delivery.

When i took my car in for service, BMW wanted £120 just for the oil - which is identical to the stuff i took in for a third of the price. Easiest £80 i've saved.

Fox, I've a question about your 3rd party nav install, does it have a built-in amp or does it need the car to have the higher end amped system?

Also, you say the downside to the android version is that it wont load straight into the main screen, so, what, you'd have to tap an icon to get from the android desktop? That'd be messy. :/ I'd only want to go android as I'd like spotify, does your version allow you to install windows ce programs? Reckon I could edit the front-end to give me a spotify link?

It does have a built in amp, yes.

The unit boots to the radio side. Access to CE or Android is by pressing the Nav key. Android boots to desktop, CE boots to a GUI but can be set to auto boot the nav software. You can buy a patch that allows access to Windows CE.

Ok here is the breakdown....

7l Castrol £130
Micro AC Filter £90
1 Hour Labour £115
Oil Filter £10

So I shall provide oil and told them not to bother with the AC filter!

£349 is the price so numbers above are ish knowing how anal some people get :)

Remind me, what car do you have?

Regardless it still seems ridiculous!

1 Hour Labour is £115 now?

WTF, the spotty 17 yearold is probably getting £8 an hour.

BMW labour is charged at £170 per hour around here.

My old 530d I used to pay between £170-180 for the oil change without microfilters. There shouldn't be much difference with the new one as its the same oil.

Should bring it down to about £200 then? What does 7 litres of Castrol run to, about £70?

And to think I was peeved that the hourly rate at the garage I use went up at my last service to £40 an hour (ok I know it's not a dealer :p).

For the level of skill involved in most main dealer service jobs that's just mental. But at the end of the day the service item isn't all you're paying for, stamping the service book doesn't come free...

Ive asked for Mario Thiesen to do the service

I wouldn't have asked, i would have demanded!...

I've been looking at pre-LCI E60s, the only thing that really puts me off are people opinions on here. I’ve driven one a couple of years ago and really liked it. I appreciate people’s views on the less than subtle interior lines but other than that thought it was a nice place to be.

I stared a thread last week about the E86 but on reflection I think the size is going to be prohibitive. I don’t really want an E46 and the E9* is out of budget really (as hypocritical as it sounds, I really don’t want a pre LCI E90).

The main thing putting me of is the £85pm warranty and fact that most of the sub £10k pre-LCI’s are over the 60k threshold now. How mental an idea is it running a 258BHP 530i out of warranty?

Yeah, but you can neck 79 cans of coke and pocket a couple of small bottles of wine from the fridge whilst watching free porn on the BMW PC's in the lavish customer waiting area whilst you're being raped for £1XX per hour.

I find that kinda takes the edge off it.
