BMW and M Power Owners

So does anyone know if there have been any reports of swirl flap issues since they supposedly fixed them? I have the 320D E90 on a 2006 plate, apparently swirl flap exist in these 163bhp engines, but this is after they apparently resolved or made an effort to resolve the issue.

This is what most people seem to be saying anyway, or does any one know of any different?

Tried to fix it, still fall in. Less accounts as more people de-flapped them.

Also after 2003 you can still have the old manifold with the unrevised flaps. Seen 2008 520ds with the old gen flaps.

Take them out and end of story.

Okey dokey, will look in to it, ta

Not sure if I should just pay up or try it myself, aslong as its not a tricky tast

I cleaned the EGR valve myself sometime in December 2014

Still hearing of reports of people owning E90's same make, model, year as mine who have opened up and seen the swirl flaps looking fine, moving freely, not worn after 100k + miles, people reporting loss of performance after having them removed, and ended up having them re-installed again (after they were removed looking fine and in good condition)

No idea who to trust.

Hi guys. I'm still looking into 1 series Coupé's.

Looking at prices... I am thinking if I get one to just go straight to my local main dealer to be honest, get a newer one and just have to have a bit on finance. Having been to look at a few of their offerings, they look good quality motors if BMW approved. Price wise they're almost on the money for their asking prices really. Then the benefits of 1 year breakdown, 1 year warranty etc, might be worth it's weight in gold.

I've been doing some sums and diesel would make sense for me really. I could look into extended warranties also. I think a 120d would do nice. I spend a projected £3750 a year on fuel currently.

Has anyone had dealings with Knights BMW?

Dealer finance on used is totally crap generally, far better off with a personal loan at less than half the interest rate.

120d is a very poor choice also, the 2.0d is tolerable as a mile munching engine with a good auto box but why would you want one ruining a small sports coupe?

Sorry, yeah I would have course look into the cheapest way of covering what I haven't got cash, bad wording :) As their finance deals are knocking on 10% interest, poor!

I can't think of much else which would do what I need it to do. I mainly like the looks of the 1 Series M Sport and don't fancy anything else at all. The 125i would be nice but it seems daft paying more for the car only to carry on paying a lot in fuel. Although I saw one with all of the toys and a lovely brown interior @ Knights to be fair but the car was black. Never, ever again! :)

As some may have seen in my previous thread I was asking regarding the company car allowance, just waiting for the company to get back to me with how much however going by what people are saying I am aiming for between £500-£600.

The plan is to run my own car for at least 5 months, however as I am due a bit of redundancy from my previous employer we were looking at replacing the A4 anyway.

I do like the 5 series estates, and wondered what these examples are like with a budget of between £14 - £15k. Is there any other options to consider around this mark? Looking for Estate, Automatic, good on juice as estimated milage between 25 - 30k per annum.

Are these the cars to be looking at around this budget??

No, an M Sport F11 is not the car to be looking at to do 30k a year with a budget of just 14k. It's the bottom of the market and asking for trouble.

If you want one ditch M Sport and preferably add a bit more and you stand a better chance of getting a nice one. 15 grand on a 100k miler is nuts.

What sort of budget should I be looking at? For funding I was looking to get around a £10k loan + what I can get for car + a little extra from redundancy if needed.

If you really want the all show no go look by opting for an M Sport with your 2 litre diesel I would want to spend 20k and get an example with under 60k for lower rate warranty.

Otherwise an SE for about 17ish?

Yours is an SE isn't it? Like the look of them to be fair.

Is it worth looking towards a 3 series instead?

Mine is an SE yes, I won't lie I prefer the look of the M Sport but at the time my budget was either M Sport 520d or good spec SE 530d.

A good LCI E91 3 Series with pro nav should be well under 15k and the warranty on a sub 60k car is almost half the price of the 5 Series one.

Consider a 325d, you get the newer N57 7 cylinder which is smoother, more reliable and better than the 2 litre but not as popular as the 330d so cheaper.

Should a 2010 F10 with professional navigation be able to stream music via bluetooth? It has a USB and aux socket in the arm rest and another USB in the glovebox but couldn't stream?
