BMW and M Power Owners

This one is from Sytner, I think it usually comes in at around £699 pm but as my brother does business with them the actual cost was fairly cheaper.

I'll try and find out the specifics after work today.

I have much sadness...M135i is less than 4 weeks old and someone ran into the back of me today whilst I was waiting to turn into a petrol station :( Going to need a new rear bumper & diffuser.

^Ouch! At least you've got their insurance details and it will be sorted through official channels?

Saw this earlier, had to post here.

From being homeless at age 17, this anonymous American enthusiast now has one of the biggest collections of BMW cars and original spare parts in the world.

His collection, located in a warehouse in Southern California, now totals 45 cars, or 55 if you include the accumulated parts. It includes virtually every major car from 1960 to 1988.

His focus is on originality – he claims that the rush for him is finding the little bits and pieces from the BMW collector market that can bring his cars back to the way they used to be. So impressed was BMW with his dedication to the marque that they made this little film about him.

Quite, and fortunately the guy was really apologetic about it too. Still taken the shine off of things a bit :(

I'd completely ignore his apologetic nature, its his and your insurers that are important nothing else. Also people have a habit of changing stories to save a few quid.

hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction

Thanks guys. BMW now use Shell exclusively apparently. Will providing them with an alternative oil of the same spec be a problem? This is for a premature oil change after running in my new M135i prior to a track day.

Just wanted to confirm this is the case.

Got my car back from BMW with a 25k service done (all free of charge thanks to the service pack!) and they used Shell 10W-60 on the invoice sheet - 9L would have cost £112.32 + VAT! Nearly as awesome as the 8 spark plugs for £123.68 + VAT!

I'll see what happens after I speak with his insurance company. I should get the estimate from BMW's approved body shop today then I'll speak with them. If they mess me around I'll just mention the phrase "accident management".

The chap who ran into me has already texted me last night with his details and another apology, seems to e a perfectly genuine bloke who wasn't paying proper attention and I just had the misfortune to be in his way at the time.

you probably got whiplash too

So, the other party's insurance company called me today to confirm that their driver has admitted full liability and they will be paying for everything. I've had the estimate from the body shop too, which is just a few pence shy of £1750, which covers complete new rear bumper, numberplate lights, numberplate, exhaust heat shield, impact bar & sundries, plus paint & labour.

Can anyone recommend a decent indy around Kent? Need a few things looked at but struggling to find a decent one. Already tried the main ones in Dartford and Maidstone with not much luck.

BMSport in Bexleyheath seems to have a decent reputation, anyone used them before?

ETA motorsport are the people to see in Kent.

E61 530i with an N53.. How unreliable is the N53? I've heard some horror stories.

Worth considering or avoid at all costs?

Personally I would avoid. Not for any reliability reasons perhaps, but its not a particularly quick engine nor particularly economical. I sold my 2 330i's ( 1×e46 and 1×e90) for this reason.
