BMW and M Power Owners

I didn't think I'd driven a car with the engine, but meant I must have driven an n57 in the f10, not that I was interested in one (which I now realise I helpfully edited out)

It doesn't matter anyway, the more I think about it the more absurd it seems as an idea - the early cars really do not look the part for the cash and there's no way I'm spending the money required for an lci

Stratstone have been pretty expensive compared to most when I've asked them for prices for work. Found a guy down in Gateshead who's an ex BMW principal tech who is far more reasonable...

Result! I emailed Lloydbmw back and have been told they had made a mistake with my invoice, value servicing had not been applied and have been told today I can get a cheque or credit of £61 to make the price inline with Stratstone,

My old man brought his new M5 over yesterday, thought you guys might like a butchers. Sorry for the poor angled pics but I was itching to take it out!

It's simply incredible to drive!

Stupidly forgot to get some interior shots, it's white nappa leather with aluminium accents.

He's got his in the right colour and yes, the drive can be quite an experience!

I've driven many different quick cars but this is something else, the gearbox is sublime too. When it's in Sport Plus mode it's out of this world.

It just had it's running in service so it was time for a "spirited" drive lol

It's one of those rare cars in which every drive is 'spirited'. :D

Are only 2 pipes in use driving normally and all 4 pipes open up on full chat? I ask because the 2 inner pipes are almost dark grey from soot!

I imagine the outer pipe flaps only open in Sport mode. Seems most new cars with 4 pipes operate in the same way.

I'd have to agree that the wheel choice is pants. Why he decided on that particular wheel baffles me! Especially so as he's got a fair few options added to the car. The tire wall looks too chunky as well? I promise though they look slightly better in the flesh.

As for the inner pipes being sooty, it's got the adaptive exhaust. I'd imagine as it's been in "comfort" mode whilst getting the run in period out of the way the butterfly valves are either closed or only partially open.

No full chat vids unfortunately, my missus had one of it idling and us pulling away but it wasn't very good. When you turn it on from cold is goes through a cold start process which truthfully sounds a bit uninspiring. By the end of my road it turned into the howling beast but we were too far away for her mic to pic up properly. It's a beautiful noise!

Quick question chaps...given my E92 M3 2011 in for a service....lots being done...thankfully all under the service pack!

Had the vehicle check emailed to me which says that the BMW tyre repair kit mobility foam has expired. Now presumably this has to be in date for the car to pass its MOT? If not I am going to give it a miss as I have no plans of squirting foam into my michelin supersports if I end up with a puncture.

If I do need a can of something for MOT what would you guys suggest? I expect BMW to want to charge me ~£100 for some.

Nah, MOT doesn't give two hoots about any spare wheels or associated apparatus as a replacement thereof.

Many thanks...at least I won't be mugged by the stealership when I go in to pick it up :)

EDIT - just checked they want £31.09 for a bottle of foam!

Well the wheels look marginally better up close, I'll give you that. Maybe your old man specced it so because he wanted a more comfortable ride which would certainly explain the tractor profile of those tyres :D

At roughly 9 mins into the video the guy shows difference of exhaust tone between a cold and warm start. I actually don't mind the cold start sound :o sounds like a rough and ready racer.
