That engine in a car that small sounds like such a recipe for fun :) I love the 1 series', especially when they're not 114d and 116d's

Exterior looks stunning, interior looks lovely too :)

Nice  Not sure about the mismatched wing mirror colour though - Audi just about manage to pull it off, just doesn't work with BMW I think! Still maintain that the 1 series front end looks like someone took a spade to it though.

Yeah its abit of an animal but can be sensible when you want it to be (eco-pro mode). Thanks for the comments, will get some better pictures up when I have some spare time to give it a proper clean.

I WAS with you on that one. They are marmite. I was in the market for a golf r or S3 but haven driven all 3 cars, I just fell in love with the BM. Where it slightly lacks in looks, it makes up everywhere else.

The base spec is amazing but the boot space is really putting me off, considering the size of the car it's tiny.

The boot on these is most certainly not tiny, have you even seen one??? TO give you an idea of size a full sized electric guitar in its case will fit both across the width and depth of the boot.

That lease also only has 5K on it, and I'd be spec'ing a minimum of the reversing camera and the M-Sport Plus pack to it.

The boot is only 100 litres bigger than a 1 Series BUT it's the letter box size boot entry which limits its use. I can get 2 full size mountain bikes in the back of a 1 but I couldn't get any bikes in a 6.

Also, for the price and its weight, it's not that powerful - the x35i/d have more power and are lighter.
An Audi S7 has 150bhp more power and is the same RRP.

The more I research the 6 the more I'm going off it. No wonder they have massive discounts.

Your comparing a hatchback to a large saloon/coupe, you'd have that problem on pretty much any car of that type, its the nature of the design...If carrying 2 mountain bikes is your requirement you're looking at the wrong type of car.

The reason the 640i sells comparatively badly is the 640d, which is the better all round car. You'd also never pay list on one of these, I didn't and ended up with probably my favorited car I've ever owned. The comfort and spec on them is immense and its pretty rapid, but then get 50mpg. In the 7000 miles I've driven mine I'm averaging 40.6 mpg, not too bad for a 300+ BHP better part of 2 ton car.

The 640d has huge discounts too so is not the reason for big discounts on 640i. They both sell comparatively badly as they are hugely over priced for what is basically a 5 coupe. But once you take discounts into account they are fantastic cars.

The 640i is a wonderful thing.
