BMW and M Power Owners

A smart combiner HUD, beating all the aftermarket solutions by intergrating well with the already impressive BMW software.
However when they have a combiner like that they are a bit like diet Pepsi compared to Coca Cola. :)
The latest HUD release by BMW in the new 7 series is very nice though. :)

Is there any value in specifying any of the following options on an M135i?

Enhanced Bluetooth telephone with USB & Voice Control - I presume the one with BMW pro would be adequate with an iPhone 6S?
Driving assistant - seems to be something I would hardly ever use, except perhaps the braking thing if someone walks out in front of the car and I'm not paying attention.
Internet - I have a smartphone.
Online entertainment - as above.
Sunroof - not sure I'd use it, plus a lot of extra weight in the roof? Extra light would be nice though I guess but it's expensive.
Park assist - again, not sure I'd actually ever use it.

Just more wondering if any of the above are considered 'must haves'?

I would say none of them are must haves on that car. Enhanced BT will let you stream music over BT, which would be nice. But if I were buying an M135i, I would be having it as devoid of options as I could really. Sure, some things are nice, but surely the point of this car is to be a rapid as possible? Not as comfortable. If you want comfort, I'd look at the 340i instead and spec one of them.

I suppose xenons / LED's plus pro nav could be considered must haves though.

No, none of them are must haves at all.

With the pro nav you can do BT music streaming anyway.

FWIW, I chose:
Pro Nav
Auto
Heated Seats
Folding mirrors (mainly because they are auto-dimming as well)
Front & rear parking sensors (because you also got the brake function cruise control with it)
Advanced stereo upgrade (didn't want to spend more on HK, though part of me wishes I did)
Adaptive headlights

Anyone got a reversing camera?

On my F11 5 Series - When I first tested the car the left mirror automatically moved to show the road/kerb when you put the auto box in reverse.

Since I have updated the iDrive it doesn't seem to do this any more, and I couldn't find an obvious setting in the iDrive to change it - Unless it's one of the physical buttons in the cockpit?

Cheers.

This is my spec:
http://mybmw.co.uk/l8f8k6g0

But they have given me £7,813.75 discount off that list price. The whole point of the car to me, is to be a quick little drivers car whilst giving me luxuries I've not really had before. Overkill a little bit? I guess so, but with the discounts it's not too bad?

Is the switch to adjust the mirrors set to the drivers side?

Same colour combo as mine was :)

Were you happy with it? If you could have changed it for another, would you?

I am in two minds to change it to blue, but my Evo IX was blue, my Accord was blue and my S2000 is blue (which I'm undecided as to whether I'm keeping or not).

Even 33k seems a lot for that sort of car.

Unless it's just me?

Strongly agree. It's a great car but to me it just never really felt all that special. It's blisteringly fast but TBH you rarely get near its limits and most of the time you're just sat in the inside of what is essentially just a 1 series.

I loved the colour combo, but got rid of the car after 10 months. To be fair a lot of it is due to the fact I am now a father.

For me it's to travel to work when not on the bike (6 miles each way), waft to Manchester and occasionally South Wales in comfort and then to be a bit of a hooligan at weekends and the occasional track day.

The S2000 currently can't do any of that apart from the weekend/track day, but it isn't great at commuting. It seems criminal to keep it and do such little mileage, not to mention the money tied up in it. My 2005 Focus can do the work bit and the longer trips, but, well, it's a Focus.

The M135i seems to tick all boxes for me.

I wrote this on another forum:

I'd definitely miss the S2000, don't get me wrong. But I have a lot of money sitting in it, and considering it's been retired to weekend only mileage and track work due to the Focus, it's an extremely expensive commodity. The BMW can tick the only car box, the S2000 can't. The BMW is better in every way apart from being an out and out driver's car on the limit and not being able to put the roof down. I seldom drive at 10/10ths on the road so that leaves brisk drives and track, both areas where the BMW is not exactly boring. So that leaves the roof down, well, if I really miss that I can buy a £1k sh!t box MX5 but I think I'll manage without.

BMW Hereford lent me one for 24 hours in 2013. The only two downsides I recall were access to the rear as I had a 3 door and my left leg touching the transmission tunnel. I've been chatting to a friend about it and he thinks it's odd as they technically have more room there than an S2000 so I need to try again.

It was everything in a car I could have wished for, for reasons I've already listed. It was my first proper experience of RWD as well, I soon got hooked on the little yaw movements under your backside. The thought of having the technology, the comfort, a decent auto box, toys, speed, 6 cylinders, etc etc are really winning me over. Plus it's a reasonably practical hatchback for a single man who drives 12 miles to work every day and the occasional trip to Manchester and South Wales. And did I mention running a single car?

Can't remember where it is, but I purposely disabled the mirror drop. I very rarely parallel park, most of the time I'm reversing into my garage, so checking the floor isn't ideal for me anyway.

I also have the reverse camera too.
