Sounds good, what car did you come from?

Various cars throughout. Allways whanted to drive, own a BMW for years. My most recent is a Toyota Yaris T-Spirt D4D Turbo Diesel. Still have this car. This car I will still use when shopping at supermarkets :) ect and use for local short runs. Mrs CYZ thinks the BWM is to big for her to drive. Purchased directly from Toyota Dealership. Mrs CYZ is showing an interest in the 1 series, as there was one at the dealer. I have a feeling this could be another BMW addition to the garage / driveway in the not to far distance future.

What's the going rate on E90/91 335's at the moment?

I rather fancy something stupidly fast yet practical as a potential 130i replacement. They're obviously reasonably old now and a bit of a unicorn, so thin on the ground and have wildly varying asking prices.

Plan would be to keep the N54/55 under warranty, so under 60k miles would be preferable. Is the older iDrive really that terrible?
 
Probably in the £10k region for the mileage

Is it that bad....no not really but it doesn't really do very much vs pretty much any modern system and looks old now. I'd still far rather have it than not
 
I looked into that option and it was offered when i bought the car too, but apparently it can cause issues with other electronics in the car, tbh, i have driven the car at night and the lights are fine with the 'expensive' bulbs BMW put in for me.

I took a couple of pics earlier. Mine does have the silver trim but i think it looks great, really light and airy and a fantastic place to be.

I imagine with the dark wood trim it would look good too.

My dad had the exact same interior on his e60 he bought from the showroom.

He got the trim switched to that dark brown to compliment the beige interior and it transformed the interior.

He first seen the interior with the black trim and beige seats which I thought looked nicer but the brown trim was nice as well.

He obviously will never get his money back on that kind of work to the car but he still has it to this day so it wasn't a bad investment.

The silver trim suits the f10 much better than the e60 imo.

The silver on the e60 was the brushed steel I think which really didn't suit the interior.

The silver trim on your car looks to be quite plain which looks much better.

Saved these pictures of the car when I went to the dealer after test driving. I love the wood trim, combined with the leather which is immaculate really leaves the interior with a lux look and feeling of sheer quality :) Love the smell of leather in the morning :) All four alloys are perfect. Not a scratch, mark or blemish
on them at all. Body work, paint work (Sapphire Black) is immaculate, not a blemish :) as is the carpet upholstery. engine bay is clean as a whistle. I do have a picture of the car face on which I will post later as it not with the photos I have with me at present. I love the msport logo on all four door sills. Sublime ;) (you can just catch it in picture

Anyone with any experience with cracked alloys? I bought a BMW e92 335i AUC which I've had since May. The drivers side headlight washer cover had come loose (one of 2 holes it screws into is split) so it was in having that repaired and they've informed me my near side rear alloy is cracked and its not covered by warranty. It's a 10 plate with just under 40k miles covered which I've done less than 4k.

Now a quick Google tells me this is a pretty common problem. Am I being unreasonable in thinking BMW should cover all or at least part of the cost? They wanted £475 for a replacement wheel which there is apparently a considerable back log on order.
 
Yea it's going in on Thursday to be measured if its within spec they will submit it to bmw to see if they will replace it as a good will gesture. I assumed if it's within spec it should be covered by warranty?

They'll do a run out check on the alloy. It is allowed up to 2mm measured from any potential flat spot to the opposite side of the alloy. If you pass the run out test, it will be authorised.
 
Boss took me for a spin in an i3 he has had on loan for a few days.

The torque of the motor was quite impressive, silent booting it to 40 the same way I would have. Surreal really.

The 'engine braking' seemed quite abrupt but I understand it charges the battery.

I'd maybe accept the idea of it as a second car or to get a shot of a zoe as a possible for when the Mrs passes her test.

OK cheers its just when they started calling it good will I thought surely if its with in spec it would be a warranty replacement. Hopefully I'm lucky.

I've had both rear wheels replaced via "Goodwill". As above, they complete a run out test and if its within their tolerances they will likely offer to cover 80-90% of the cost of the replacement. Both times I pressed them (via BMW Customer Services) and they decided to cover the whole cost with no fuss.

They wont tell you this, but the replacement wheels are a new design and have a thickened barrel running around the inside lip to prevent these stress cracks reoccurring.

Even if your wheel fails their run out test, I would still push them for the goodwill as if the wheel was in a weakened state while driving and you hit a bump on the weakened spot, it could easily deflect further than you might expect from just a stress fracture.

Either way I'm afraid it's not for me with the spec, engine and fact it's pre lci (I'd personally have sacrificed the sport looks for some xenons and idrive), but it's not important what I like now is it!
