BMW and M Power Owners

Thats lovely - I'd have that over a newer 520d any day personally

What differences did you notice when you drove both to come to that conclusion :p

Sports Auto Transmission the option gives faster gear changes and paddles on the steering wheel. You can get the software coding changed on the gearbox to enable the faster changes

You also get a revised shifter with leather gaiter etc. See my picture in the other thread.

...I took a couple of pics earlier. Mine does have the silver trim but i think it looks great, really light and airy and a fantastic place to be.

I imagine with the dark wood trim it would look good too.

Great colour combo, that interior looks gorgeous.

I prefer the new wheel. Not only is the design more modern but also the middle airbag housing is a lot smaller meaning it doesn't obstruct the instrument panel, when adjusted to my preferred setting.

Steering wheels can be bought new on eBay for around £350ish and swapped over easily.

The display surround looks a lot better on the LCI too.

The problem with the newer wheel is twofold.

a) It was designed for the F30 interior - it fits in perfectly there but looks like an afterthought in the F10
b) The rounded plastic bits feel a bit cheap

I prefer to look forward than back. If BMW goes with a similar wheel from the new 7 in the new 5 then I'll be happy - Quality and nicely sized :)

I have no doubt you'll strongly consider the new 5, a Bentley Continental, two Ferrari's and a GMC Yukon before deciding that a Seat Leon FR is the best option :p

I'd go for the Bentayga over the Continental, much prefer an SUV over a Saloon :p
...and I'd rather a petrol but might have to settle for a diesel due to lack of available petrols :p

The airbag roundel is just too massive. Only that new M Sport wheel looks just perfect.

Each to their own. I think the old wheel looks too chunky and dated personally. But it's only a wheel. Wouldn't put me off buying what is otherwise the almost "perfect" car.

Been following this thread for a very very very long time: A big thanks to all the BMW owners and to the Devils Advocate [TW]FOX for all the advise and posts that I found very helpful and informative through out when I decided to purchase my first BMW. Well, I am happy to say, finally I have joined the BMW Club. Purchased a 320D M Sport (automatic) last week, collected on Thursday. Lovley car 1 previous owner (lady from new) 60K on the clock with full service history. Immaculate, perfect condition both inside and out :)

I have the car booked onto Maidstone BMW for 2/12/2015 for the QE timing chain recall. Overall I must say the car is an absolute dream to drive for my daily communte from kent to London, and a stunner imo :). The only 2 missing items were sat nav and xeons. Not bothered by this in the slightest. I did look at a 318i which had the business pack (manual) but the car really did not entice me against the 320D M Sport. Pictures to follow shortly!!

I have taken the BMW comprehensive warranty including emergency assisatance ([TW]FOX advice) for £60.00p/m (Even though the dealer also gave me a full comprehensive warranty for 6 months) So overall I feel comfortable that I am covered and I am one very happy BMW owner :)

I can also confirm this vehicle does not sound like a tractor as some posts describe. I do not even feel the engine or hear it. Twice I have have wound down the windows at traffic lights to listen to the tractor sound as described. I can confirm the engine does sound very nice indeed :)

Glad youre happy with the purchase, it's just not something I could ever get myself excited about but they're hardly a bad car

The warranty is definitely a good thing to have on a 320d, though it's a shame about it missing one of the better things about the e9x series (idrive/nav) and i think you might be kidding yourself a bit about the engine, 320d's are certainly 'diesely'

Any pics?

Thanks Rodenal: Will post pics later on today/ this evening. when I am ready to move onto another model I will look for I drive/ sat nav. Albeit when I did view this car I did view a 3218i which had business sat nav ect. I also viewed a 520D with all the gubbins. To be honest both of these cars did not make me feel motivated. I did test drive them both. Both were nice but they both just did not "excite" me like the 320D Sport did. Also both cars interiors and colour(s) of the car I did not appreciate.

As to the engine I am not kidding myself. I like the engine and I do not find it as diesley as described. I find the entire BMW "experience" sublime.

The car sits beautifully, and feels well balanced on the road, "sticking to the road", does not roll when cornering. Plenty of power when needed. I do like the M-Sport steering wheel. Feels nice and solid in the palm of the hands. The steering feels concise and exact.

The M Sport leather seats are so very comfortable, no knee or lumber ache when compared to other market cars I have driven. Feels good to lay the back of my head on a head rest for once and just drive. Being 6'2 in height I feel very refreshed after long drives. The RFT's I do not mind. Albeit they are practically brand new. It would not make sense to swap them out at the moment. To be honest I feel as one with the car when I drive, "I can feel the car and road as one"

Getting to grips with all of the computer settings and read outs. The DTS is nice, as is cruise control. The entire cabin feels solid, spacious, and the quality feeling does leave a very big smile on my face.

I like the BMW mirrors dipping automatically when the gear box is put into reverse for kerbside parking and the automatic mirrors repositioning when "D" is re-engaged.

The M Sport automatic gear box is beasty as well :D So many things I really do enjoy about this car. No squeeky plastic parts, nothing feels cheap or tacky. Keyless entry, push start ect
