BMW and M Power Owners

I was looking online at my cars spec. It says online that it has m sports package 2 and aerodynamic package. Are these the same?

Well no, it just has more kit. The interior is the same, it's just got more stuff fitted to it which you can do with any car in the range.

You could say the same about the 3/4/5/6/7 series.

They're all basically the same with extra bits tagged on, some more than others by default.

That's why it makes me giggle that you love the 5 series but can't stand the 3 series :D

I know there are other subtle differences... but I don't think they're as vast as you make them out to be ;)

You can't make a 3 series interior look like that of a 5 series, no matter what options you stick on... :p

I was in BMW the other day getting some parts and took the time to check out the 5 series interior vs the 3, and yeah - I can totally see where Fox is coming from. They're in different leagues.

Virtually none of the options change how the interior looks. Its just trim colour and leather seats and a bigger screen.

As a collective, I think they make quite a big difference to the looks and perceived quality.

Look at a 3 series with no options, then look at one with all of them added.

Not a fair comparison but my interior feels vastly better than a bog standard F30/F32 though it is pretty much full spec.

That's a fairly risky strategy given its technically fraud?

do they not verify mileage?

let's be sensible - if the last time they seen it/it was mot'd was a few months ago and a few thousand k less than 60 on the clock this will be a complete non issue

if they last looked at it in November, and it was sitting on 59.999k then it's probably not a good idea!

Because on the M4 they covered all the crap plastic with lovely leather :D

Haha well that's if you spec it, frankly I don't understand why anyone wouldn't (Well I do :p but it's rather annoying) as it's up there with M-HUD as the best options I went for. Sadly quite a few aren't specified with full leather :(

Same as extended leather option on older BMWs, rare as anything, you'd have better luck finding a Unicorn :D

You can spec the same leather package on a standard 3/4 series... a rental 420i I had, had it. I don't mind plastic though tbh, no need for extra dead animal surrounding me... I like to have a leather steering wheel, alcantara makes my hands feel funny and plastic wheel just feels... bad. Otherwise, I'm weird - I even prefer cloth seats (warmer in winter, cooler in summer) - which aren't that easy to find anymore in this market, except for the most basic model available... generally. Standard E36 cloth seats were sooooo comfy. The leather generally looks better though, of course.

Picking up a rental M4 Coupe DCT tomorrow evening for 4 days :D 100 quid a day, not too bad.

Yes so I've been told but it's likely even rarer as it's not on the official price list or the configurator (unlike the m3/m4), also dakota vs merino leather :p

Plastic is rubbish tbh, though alcantara...yes please!
