BMW and M Power Owners

Unfortunately I don't have any actual plans to sell yet! Just feeling a change might be on the cards this year...

So it seems the normal people are buying the 2l diesels and the car enthusiasts are buying (and taking the time to look properly) the 6cyl petrol manuals?

Also has the value bottomed out on these yet? I paid £3,200 for my 2003 330ci msport 2 years ago in mechanically and interior-ly good condition and average paint condition. If I find a pic tonight I'll upload!

Depending on the mileage you will find that yours has not depreciated that much.

The majority of the chavs just lease a white 114i/d with black rimz these days. But because of how affordable e46's are now, many of them are ruined :(

That's good to know! Prices seem a bit wild on Autotrader, some people think they're £6-7k cars and some people think they're £2,000. I bought mine at 88k miles and it's now at 102k - does going over the magical and completely arbitrary 100k devalue it much? Again, if it is enthusiasts who buy this car now, you would hope not as they'd buy on condition...

Anyway here it is, might have seen these before (yes I know the image is flipped!) and that's probably a year old picture with the tax disk and everything so it might look a little worse I suppose or maybe that is just because I haven't washed it in ages.

If it has a proper history and has had the usual suspects replaced in the last few years then I would still pay what you bought it for now.

It won't/wouldn't sell quickly though as the people not really looking for one will buy a £1500 example and out of those actually wanting one that has been looked after you lose those who know a facelift will cost much the same then those who can't be bothered to travel

Looks in good nick. Because it's a pre-facelift and depending on the history I reckon you could get about £2500 for it

That's what I thought. Trust me to prefer the looks of the pre facelift! TBH it's not had much done to tbh and the cost of doing bits to it is making me think that I should chop it in for a sensible car as I can't give it the time /money it needs...

The good / what's been done
water pump,
handbrake,
clutch and Master Cylinder,
starter motor,
no sludge under oil cap
no leak of coolant
no leak of oil
+ Inspection 2 done this year.

"Usual Suspects" not done but aware / 'managed'
Oil Sensor gone- apparently very common, cba replacing as I check regularly
'drinks' oil (well it certainly doesn't leak) 1L of oil every 600 miles
two parking sensor sensors need replacing (I'll probably do this, quick and easy apparently)
Thermostat (reads slightly cool approx. 50% of the time) and Radiator (both next on my list I think)
No suspension work done :(
rust now appearing on front wings :(

Secure that carpet  That's almost reaching no carpet, tab close levels!

The plastic thingymabob screws have come off the driver's side's mat if that's what you mean (tab close levels wut?)

A joke from the other thread, never mind :p

Those clips are very tough, must have yanked it good and proper to have one of those go.

Aye, my brother has found a few where he lives in Germany. Genuine ones seem to cost a fortune. Couldn't stand having genuine wheels with one replica cap.

If I was you I would get them all replaced with replicas. Sooner or later some bum that knows how much they are worth will pick them off your wheels.

What the hell happened to E30 prices? I really fancy one again but bought my last one for £950, anything not a complete shed now seems to be around £2000. Oh well..

Ha, yeh right. On the Sport Saloon it was nice an easy, on the coupe it's a pain because you need to take off the entire rear bumper.

Surely not the entire bumper, you can slide it back on the rails far enough to get your hand in - well you can on the Z4 which is sort of an E46 :D

Question for someone who's very familar with i-drive. Is it possible to play music via an iphone app (e.g. mixcloud) via lightning cable / USB connection on a 2014 F31 3 Series with pro nav but without the enhanced bluetooth?
