Surely not the entire bumper, you can slide it back on the rails far enough to get your hand in - well you can on the Z4 which is sort of an E46 :D

The clips that hold the parking sensors in are very brittle and fiddley and from what I remember, you'd need to have *very* nimble hands to do it by just feeling. Anyway, once you've released the bumper enough to slide it back, you might as well just remove it totally as you've done 9/10ths of the work.

Removing the bumper totally requires disconnecting every sensor to be able to lift the bumper clear though?

Disconnecting the sensors is very easy. Removing the sensors from the tiny, very brittle clips is very difficult.

Can anyone recommend a set of good brake discs and pads for my e46? I drive the car quite "progressively" so I would like decent stopping power.

Looks OK in black, generally awful in other colours mind you, still, great to drive - a lot of RWD fun for the cash.

Definitely is fun. The clutch is very strange though - I'm going to do a CDV delete when I can get under it.

Congrats! I miss my 325ti loads and it's still by far my favourite car I have owned. Worst decision ever selling it when I did.

Don't let anyone it's ugly!

Haha cheers! It's a beautiful car, at least in black. Loving it thus far! My one issue with it is that the rear windows open when you hold the key thing down, and then dont't go back up when you do the reverse! Minor, though.

The interior of mine is completely identical to this, hah.

OEM discs are fine, I have PFC Z-Rated pads and find them to be excellent compared to the OEM pads (Pagid/Textar). Way less brake dust, greater bite.. Price difference is negi=ligable vs stock pads.

The guy I bought my car from did the CDV delete, and said it made bugger all difference. I still have my car's CDV rolling around in the tray in the boot on my car. The clutch is weird - it's very easy to kangaroo at low speed when trying to slowly feed it in.

Oh how weird. I have that kangerooing issue and I read that it made a hueg difference. Hopefully your experience is a one off!

I had no idea the back windows on these went down.

Iir this is programmable, stumbled across a few threads detailing how when searching for info on my 330.

I don't know if the previous owner of my 330i saloon (2001) had it programmed or it's different on those but that most definitely closed the back windows when you held the button down.
