You'd be getting rather more than just 44mpg if your usage profile was such that you got 34 from an M135.

Just to put it into perspective my previous car was an E91 320d and I averaged 53mpg from that over ~100k miles driving it in almost exactly the way.

I've averaged over 34mpg in my M135i over 33k miles. Granted it's the smallest car the engine goes in, but I'm still mightily impressed with it!

What?! Do you live at the top of an endless hill? :D

I think we share the same engine and mine is stuck on 20mpg, sure I managed 30mpg driving like a saint for 8 minutes, but where is the fun in that :p

Haha, I drive a lot of miles, and as a consequence I mostly pootle along at the speed limit. This means long drives on motorways sat at 70mph, or 50mph through the roadworks (my 14 month-old car has already done 33,250 miles!).

I have learnt over the years that even were I to drive along as fast as I dared it would shave only minutes off of my usual trips, cause a great deal more stress, be much less relaxing, and use a load more fuel (and brake pads) than pottering calmly along.

The x35i engine is impressively economical when it's under low load.

In the Z4 35i, my average is currently 26.84mpg which is from mostly start/stop town driving. 34.14mpg over 90 miles is my record economy, with 32.47 over 285 miles my best tank figure.

Sport mode decreases my tank economy by 3-4mpg with like-for-like driving but the car feels a lot better!

We had to drive up to Wellingborough yesterday and I spied a few tasty bimmers out and about. I still mentioned to my wife that there must've been a bimmer meet going on somewhere, it was only when we rocked up at the pod in a Mini that the penny dropped :p

Contemplating getting rid if the ac schnitzer stuff on my car and going oem+ tempted to buy a full eisenmenn cat back exhaust.

Went and had a look at an e93 m3 today. 59 plate so fair bit below what I had been looking at in terms of age and £££ but oh my life...WHAT A SHED!

Paintwork was in horrible condition. Doors full of door dings. Interior plastics scratched to hell with some serious gouges in them. Seats look like they'd had someone from hellraiser sat in them.

Much disappoint.

For the cost of putting those things right vs the value of the car I can't understand why the dealer hasn't. Makes no sense whatsoever!

Went to look at a 2013 640d tonight...same problem! 40k miles and the seats were in worse condition than my 2012 328i which has 50k. Absolutely trounced. Scuffs and scratches all over the doorcards.

Well, found a fully loaded 640d in good condition. 40k miles. Less than 23k so under budget.

Only problem. It's solid red. Not even metallic.

That is incredibly cheap though so if it wasn't red perhaps it would cost more.

I am guessing it's an early one at that money? Sounds like a great buy as it's under the cheaper warranty threshold too.

2012. Given what's on it I think it's probably the colour too. Decisions decisions!

Edit, it's gone! Balls!

I know I shouldn't care but, commute PB!

Technology in this thing is amazing. I wish though it made real noise not ASD and also there was just an 'overtake' button rather than pressing the mode switch twice then the shifter to the left to get full beans.

For now. Reviews state that we will see the platform shift into other models over the years too.
