BMW and M Power Owners

Interesting! that looks pretty smart Will. If it works on your E89 I assume it could work on an E9x also? The cold start noise reduction would be nice to enable on the M3.

I use the Carly App and it's good, but this looks ace.

Yeah it covers pretty much all the models, annoyingly they don't have a website but if you have a google you will find tonnes of forum posts with nothing but good things to say about the app.

Another good thing is the separate maps for the various normal, sports and sport+ maps, so you can have a nice gentle map for improved MPG on the normal then chuck economy out the window for the other two :D

Plus after the first map (78 mins ish for mine) the following 're-maps' take 2-3 mins so you can have a good play without waiting for hours on end

They're two very very very different cars. With two very very very different price ranges!

Not really - same car, different engine and they do the same thing, just differently. The price isn't enormously different if you're prepared to have a margin of 20,000 miles or so. Ongoing potential runnings costs are different, but not hugely so for a car that's still this new.

Bonnet respray?

If you look at the VW next to it, it also has a darker bonnet then side panel, so have to assume it's the lighting.

Cheers for pointing that out, when we did deal car was not prepped and had been raining, it seems you are correct

Went to collect tonight and, on basis of your post, looked at bonnet and it is a different shade

I suppose the lack of any stone chips whatsoever should have raised concerns

anyway car supermarket place agrees and it's off to bodyshop to be sprayed :)

Hi What app is that and when you talk about mapping can you explain alittle please?
Thanks

Lovely colour.
Far too many of the new m cars are black or white for my liking. Was looking at e92's recently and it just depressed me how many of the later cars were recession white.

On the lens in the last photo :)
Oh yeah i see haha, thanks.

Yeah i waited until i found one i really liked, its Le Mans Blue, individual, fully loaded, has 53k on the clock, only use at weekends:)
Wheels could do with a refurb and also small dent on lower side of passenger door.

Question...Do the wing mirrors electrically fold in at all?

The wing mirror electric fold was actually an option, not all M3s will have it. If you have an additional button on the mirror control panel on the door handle then they should fold, if not then your car wasn't specced with it. Mine is the same, no electric fold. You can fit electric fold mirrors if you want, and add the button panel. No extra coding is needed, just a direct swap. Not a cheap swap, mind.

This month is going to be an expensive month.

Decided I want to keep the car after toying with the idea of getting something else. Mainly wanted to go Jap again but I just couldn't find something I like which is a great all round package as such as the 330i I have.

So I've ordered a eisenmann exhaust fully race spec which should be a hoot and decided I will raise the rear and sell my acs bits I have.

Want to get csl alloys but they only look good in 19" so I'm thinking if it would alter the ride characteristic of the e46 massively or a set of bbs ch alloys. LM are to common and prefer something without dish.

What do you guys think?

Other then that I will then save up for a respray as rust is starting to form and it's getting some bubbling in the paint. Nothing too serious.

19 inch wheels and a race spec exhaust on an E46 saloon are going to make it fairly nasty, it makes even less sense if it's sufficiently tatty and rusty to justify a respray. I'd focus on getting it sorted rather than adding tat.

Well it says race spec but it doesn't sound bad at all. Little more rasp then usual. I'd opt for 18' generally the car is ok minor some small dings and the bubbling.

Thanks mrk, also are the wheels on the convertibles 19inch are 18inch? I cant really tell without measuring tbh lol.

Anyone with Ivory Dakota leather noticed bad staining on the seats?

Had a look at a couple of 6 series and some 5s with Ivory today and every one of them had blue trails which is obviously staining from jeans. Talking to the dealer he mentioned that nothing they did could get rid of it.
