BMW and M Power Owners

On my merc, I can turn auto hold on by pressing the break pedal all the way down while stationary, is it similar on a 6 series? Or perhaps when auto stop kicks in? Or is the only way by pressing the button in the centre ?

Also the dealer said it had idrive touch as it's fitted with NBT, but on closer inspection it doesn't I don't think (14 plate)

It should have it if it's on a 14 plate. My 63 F11 had it. The auto handbrake should come on so long as you have engaged it, and the car comes to a complete stop. If you also have start/stop, and have it engaged, the engine should stop then too (as long as the conditions for operation are met at the time). When you then tap the accelerator, the engine starts and the handbrake is disengaged.

If you don't use the auto handbrake, but do use the start/stop, then the engine stops when you have come to a stop, and keep your foot on the brake. The engine will start when you take your foot off the brake.

Nope. iDrive touch was not introduced on the 6 Series at the same time as the 5 Series, it followed about 9 months later.

You're not missing much though.

Looks like it from the video, about 1.39s in.

But it's still NBT right ? Only difference is the controller ?

It's still NBT yes. There are actually a couple of minor and inconsequential software changes too but not enough to worry about.

I've not seen the video so it may have it, but it's definitely mix and match in 2014 as it didn't come until after the F10 got it.

I couldn't tell in the video myself but I can't tell looking at the pictures either.

Yes, 100% touch controller. To be honest, it doesn't really matter though, so long as it's NBT. I don't think I really ever used the chicken-scratch controller anyway. Has MFD though, yaaaayyyyy. Recession White though?

The only 640d I could find in the 25-35k bracket with all the options was in white, would have preferred other colours, but I'll be spending my time in the car not looking at it from the outside so options was more important!

So, finally bought a Z4 (35iS) - the power is addictive! It's a bit damp atm so been taking it easy.
