BMW i8

well GTR ofc :D

TBH I'd get I8 just cause... IT LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME we have 3 in Nottingham and MAAAANNN

Meh... better to buy a car that feels good to drive than looks good from the outside... you don't see the outside when you're driving it... unless it's a garage queen... then just sell the damn thing and let someone drive it!

Uncle's got one. It's a car that never gets boring to look at, even when you know it looks like it's giving birth to a 911.

An i8 owner at British GT @ Snetterton was upset because he parked next to the 720S and it was the first time he and his car were being ignored...

I have seen a few of these around but never realised they were £110k :eek::eek:

Are they the Apple of the car world or something, the price seems crazy

They're a tech demo, so part of the price will be to offset the low sales volume and development cost... I expect BMW won't have made much money on this vehicle... potentially even lost... hopefully not lost, but possible with this type of vehicle.

I like that they built a concept car and then released it as a saleable item.

I like a lot about the i8... just never want to drive or own one.

I did. :)

Anyway, does anyone know to whom Chargemaster subcontract installation of charging points hereabouts? I spoke to a lady at Chargemaster yesterday who was useless and they haven't responded to my email.

Quite a few friends of mine used to say that.

Now they have driven one, they get it.

As has been said, on paper it should not work, but get behind the wheel, and it does work, it works very well in fact.

I8 values seem to be in free fall. With so few new cars selling I can imagine BMW will stop making them soon.

So future classic or cuts the losses now and run.

I ended up not buying one last year because of issues with recharging. But I really liked it and...

How does the i8 hold up after several years? How is it for rust & the like? I've just had a gander on Autotrader and am seeing a low mileage 2015 car for £45K

Half the car is plastic or CF so no rust issues. but any 5 year old modern car should not be rusting.

You don’t need to charge it at home, drive it in sports mode and it will self charge.
