BNP

Special circumstances got the Nazis in power though. Massive unemployment, crazy high inflation, strong tensions in Europe following the last war, which had humbled Germany just a tad.

We might have some problems here in the UK, but none come close to how it was in the 20s and 30s in Germany imo.

I would be surprised if they ever win a seat under our current electoral system or without radically changing their policies.

Same as the Green Party, plaid Cymru etc.

They don't expect to govern the kingdom, they exist purely as point-making parties. The BNP's point is a racist one (please please please don't ask for 'source' ) - but as such its important that their voice be able to be heard :(

The Nazi's got into power

The Nazis got into power because the German people were fed up of the mess they were in after WW1. They rose from being a complete mess to nearly clobbering a good chunk of Europe and would have completed the job if a) the US hadn't gotten mad at Japan and b) the British weren't so insistent on surviving. The UK, for all it's myriad faults and problems, is in nowhere near the state Germany was prior to the election of the Nazi party.

The BNP haven't got a remotely credible plan for government. They get away with this as they know that they haven't got a snowball in hell's chance at actually governing the country....I'm pretty sure we'd see a Lib Dem government before we saw a BNP one.

LOL, course they have.

Whats that mean? Of course people have learnt from the attocities that were committed during WW2. Not everybody has (Slobodan Milosevic, Pul Pot, etc), but I for one would never want to see anything like that happen again.

I don't know really, a country this diverse to ellect such a party? Anyway I'll play along, if they are against foreigners (so students as well) the UK will lose billions just from that, couple it with riots, anarchy and in a small scale you got a civil war and a country in deep crap.

The only reason the Nazis where pwned are the Greeks, we pwn.

The world is a very different place to when the Nazis came to power. Notably the absence of world wars, causing many other factors that gave them the rare opportunity to rise to power.

Today, the BNP would never become a ruling party. If something incredibly unexpected happened that allowed them to (e.g. extra terrestrial intervention, brain-washing drugs in the water supply etc.) then a war would most probably ensue, and I would leave the country, or stay and fight for what I believe in if I had the guts to that. I'd like to think I do, but when you're looking death in the face, who knows what you're really capable of.

Edit: I would share similar views for nationalist partys such as the Scotish Nationalist Party and Plaid Cymru, as it is my opinion that no one should, or in fact will, get anywhere, by offering a better deal to particular geographical areas, unless they are genuinely in need of it, but even then there are limits.

As for the Greens, I can imagine a day when they rise to be at least the second largest party, but there will always be ignorant people who would rather stay as they were. Main stream parties will eventually copy green policies and scale them to a more amicable extent and drain The Greens of many votes.

Lib dems, well who knows. That's another story for another thread really. I would have thought that before Ming 'modernised' them (read: moved them to the right, or if you share my opinion 'ruined' :p ) they would have been more successful, but it seems the destiny of UK politics is a set of 3 main parties covering an area of the political spectrum no larger than a pin head. Then you ask yourself: is it really a democracy anymore, or more a one party state?

But hey, I've gone off topic. :D

What are the possible scenarios if the next Prime minister is a BNP member? (As in they actually won the election  )

I think their election manifestos will be very hard to acheive if not almost impossible.

What do you guys think?

EDIT
Should the foreigners, immigrants and minority ethnics be worried?

Would be funny, so many non whites and foreigners have educated and lived here, along with loans, mortgages etc. Imagine kicking all of them out, do you really think countries would trade with the UK then lol? Then I guess you could say the UK will do it all from home, a lot of BNP supporters cba to work anyway and claim like they would change.
If most ethincs (even those born here) went "back" as people say, they would bring with them knowledge. It would be a struggle but their country would prosper in the future and the UK would recieve some hefty brain drain.

So, because they deteste a skin colour (lets face it, its about race.....and a bit of religion) out go them all, a fair number of jobs would need replacing, halting production so lowering revenue, debts wouldnt really be paid off that they owed and other countries refuse trade - Bring on the 1930s lol

Of course, this is worst case scenario and never know what could happen! Whatever people say though, BNP are racist and they just want someone to blame for their own mess ups in life. "I dont have a job, blame the black man!!", "my daughter has a non white friend, blame the brown man!!!", "I do like curry though", flippin eck replace Stupid in the dictionary with BNP!

Sleepy time for moi :o

Have you not watched V for Vendetta yet? I count the days until it all comes in to play :D

I said it would never happen, mind you if there are anymore Rebel attacks against the UK by extremists i can see a lot of people being sucked in by the BNP.
