Boeing 777 shot down

There's no "they" when it comes to looting from the corpses.

That's just modern humanity. Laid bare and clear to see.

Animalistic. Materialistic. Craving for money. Nothing matters. They don't know these people. They don't care.

In this particular situation, it looks much to me like someone pushed the button when they shouldn't have. A plain mistake. But I hope it's preying on their conscience for these days since, and perhaps we'll see some justice for this.

It doesn't matter that outside we can see that these were innocents dead for a conflict that mattered not to them. Now picked clean by, no doubt, combatants in that which led to their pointless deaths.

It sickens me. It really does. I turn on the television to watch the news each day and all I see is this and the worsening genocide in Palestine, and nothing but rhetoric and finger-pointing from spineless warmongers. It angers me immeasurably. I hate the human race beyond measure. I really do.

It isn't a genocide in Palestine so you don't have to get so upset mate.

This was a genocide http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13431486

Singapore Airlines SQ351 (B777) and Air India AI113 (B787) were about 25 km from MH17 when it disappeared.

I'm flying SQ319 pretty much that route soon. Was relieved to read the following:

Singapore Airlines would like to advise customers that we are no longer using the Ukrainian airspace and have re-routed all our flights to alternative flight paths that are away from the region.

Stark difference:

I am, but think it's just such an utter disgrace and shame anyone had to fly that route and end up being the unfortunate souls on MH17.

Agreed, but its not all the airlines fault as they were told flying above 30k would be safe by the EU air traffic department

The poor families though that have found out / waiting to hear about their family on the plane :(

As said by both ICAO/IATA and other sources, it wasn't deemed a threat at the time which is tragic :( There are many SAM sites around regular flight routes but they aren't cosidered a risk as they are professionally operated

Not suggesting the airlines really did anything wrong, nobody would have realistically expected this. :(

It's just all very very sad.

Sorry but I don't agree with this, it's been known for weeks that the rebels had declared their airspace to be a no fly zone and that they had SAM capabilities up to 72,000ft.

The EU air traffic department were wrong to tell the airlines that flying above 30k would be safe, and the airlines were wrong to accept it.

I find it hard to believe that this has happened! My heart goes out to the family and friends of all those affected....

I hope the perpetrators are brought to swift justice.

I think the main issue was that they didn't know the rebels had SAM that could reach 72k ft, people wrongly preseumed they had weapons that could only hit low flying targets

but equally we DID definitely know the Ukrainians had SAM that could go that high and that they have form for shooting down airliners....
