All the politicians will go tut tut, but nothing will happen. Russia and the Ukraine are too big for us to have a conflict with. Just watch how in the next couple of weeks all the politicians will be saying 'diplomatic end' ......

I bet he just loves riding the west hates us xenophobic line,and hopes no one will notice the home grown problems.

Don't worry,I am sure our lot will do the same (beware the russkie scourge line),and hope everyone ignores the economy is still having problems.

A conflict always makes people forget the other problems,right???

Truly heartbreaking when you listen to some of the victims backgrounds. 2 Newcastle United fans travelling around the world to watch their team play, students going to work to finish their degree courses.

Then the loss to research of some of the foremost academics in the search for a cure for hiv, though the press does like to inflame thoughts and irk responses from almost every quarter I wonder if the potential cure for the virus would have come from those on the flight over time even?

Either way a sad sad day and although I don't consider myself much different to the next person some days like this one .... its almost embarrassing being a human being ... killing for what reason, am in a right low mood now :(
 
From videos seen, a lot of the victims seem to be burned, and others not burned, but suffering high impact injuries. In the videos I viewed, all victims are close to the main body of the plane. Unfortunately, (from a technical point of view) the view is too close up to decide direction or point of impact.

I can imagine they will try partial reconstruction of the plane parts, like they did from the Lokerby crash, and maybe suss the firing point of the missile given the known flight path, plus satellite/ drone footage.

Reports of Ukraine regaining territory. In Luhansk now. Seems this event may have had an effect on the rebels and perhaps their organisation and support isn't strong as it was.
 
It was almost certainly the Rebels that did this, but you know the Ukrainian Government and the western intelligence agencies must secretly be so happy about this shootdown.

It would've been better if it was a Russian airliner...then the pressure from within Russia would have been much stronger.

But right now, I fear we will never have enough evidence to confirm and put all doubts away because the rebels will destroy all the important evidence. I mean they are blocking access to the site already, if it was Ukraine then they would want the world to know that.
 
I still can't believe it. When I first saw then news I thought it meant that the original plane that went missing was shot down. Then to my dismay it was another MA aircraft.

Still in denial.
