Boeing 777 shot down

From videos seen, a lot of the victims seem to be burned, and others not burned, but suffering high impact injuries. In the videos I viewed, all victims are close to the main body of the plane. Unfortunately, (from a technical point of view) the view is too close up to decide direction or point of impact.

I can imagine they will try partial reconstruction of the plane parts, like they did from the Lokerby crash, and maybe suss the firing point of the missile given the known flight path, plus satellite/ drone footage.

Satellite & drone footage? Unlikely.

The rebels thinking they were shooting down another high altitude Ukrainian transport plane like they did on monday, seems pretty cut and dry to me that they ****** up badly.

What really puzzles me is the fact that in the case of MH370, all major nations dont have a clue what went on, but in the case of MH17 the US has alrleady declared that the russkies are to blame, already declared a missile hit it and the aussie PM point Putin as responsible, without a single expert from ICAO, IATA or even the NTSB and boeing have a look at the crash site.
Technically, we dont have a clue what went wrong. I find it outrageous for head of states to start blaming so irresponsible

To be fair there will be more surveillance apparatus in that area of the world because of the ongoing conflict and previous Cold War bias. As opposed to the Indian Ocean where the west doesn't really have any interest.

Indeed, the US have been able to detect ICBM launches from that neck of the woods for decades, so I wouldn't be surprised if current satellite tech could pick up a large SAM launch. Would tell them where it was launched, but not explicitly by who.

it had to fly over landmass with radar and all before it reached the indian ocean, IF it did went there. And practically speaking we dont know if the yanks do watch and to what extent the woods out there, i personally dont trust them at all and i highly doubt their capabilities - also, as everyone they act exclusively on their own interests. I must say that they do have "a strong point of view" on matters...

This. I would be very surprised if the us doesn't have good knowledge of who did it, but their hands are tied when it comes to doing anything thanks to russia backing the other side.

I think if the rebels were unsupported a few countries would be getting ready to smash them into next week by now

Just lol if you can't see the difference between this and mh 370.

Seriously ??
This region of the planet is one of the most closely monitored / surveillance'd at the moment by multiple countries due to the ongoing & escalating conflict, what is hard to understand about that!!

Not so much with satellite reconnaissance but probably more likely with over the horizon RADAR detection, although that is more focused towards ICBM launch detection.

Cash and jewellery is being stolen from victims of the Malaysian plane crash, Ukrainian politicians claim.

The missile strike which brought down the MH17 flight left naked bodies strewn across fields surrounded by hundreds of possessions including children's books, playing cards, slippers, letters and old vinyl records.

But tonight it has been claimed that looters have descended on the distressing scene, stealing valuable goods from the 298 passengers and crew, who all died in the blast.

Anton Gerashchenko, an advisor to the Kiev government, said: 'I have received information that terrorist death-hunters were collecting not only cash and jewellery of the crashed Boeing dead passengers but also the credit cards of the victims.

Saturday's front cover carries on from Friday's. They're certainly not mincing their words!

The word Passive comes to mind..

I feel like I've got a pit in my stomach, the situation is sickening.

For me its just a realization of what "they" are capable of, I just hope we are ready for any mistakes they may make in the future if anything were to come this way..

Bloody War.

Bloody War.

There's no "they" when it comes to looting from the corpses.

That's just modern humanity. Laid bare and clear to see.

Animalistic. Materialistic. Craving for money. Nothing matters. They don't know these people. They don't care.

In this particular situation, it looks much to me like someone pushed the button when they shouldn't have. A plain mistake. But I hope it's preying on their conscience for these days since, and perhaps we'll see some justice for this.

It doesn't matter that outside we can see that these were innocents dead for a conflict that mattered not to them. Now picked clean by, no doubt, combatants in that which led to their pointless deaths.

It sickens me. It really does. I turn on the television to watch the news each day and all I see is this and the worsening genocide in Palestine, and nothing but rhetoric and finger-pointing from spineless warmongers. It angers me immeasurably. I hate the human race beyond measure. I really do.
