Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

Quick question. I'm playing as a commando and for shotguns I got a multiplier nex t to damage. I take it that's because the commando is good with shotguns?

Didn't read anything at charachter selection which states he's good with shotguns.

So zero would get a multiplier on the sniper damage rating ?

No that multiplier is to say how many shotgun bullets each shot fires, so a shotgun that does 16 x25 fires 25 bullets that all hit for 16. This is the same for all classes and is how shotguns work.

You sure?

So if half the bullets hit it will do 8 damage?

Could swear that the game indicates 300 odd for example damage when I hit someone with my shotgun which is something like 70 odd damage

If you have a shotgun that says 20 x10, that means each "bullet" can hit for 20 and there is a total of 10 bullets. So a potential damage of 200 + crits. If only half of them hit, a potential damage of 100.
 
Loving this!

4 hours solid tonight. More of the same, which to me is perfect.

Running at full settings, with physx on high and getting 60fps easily at 1080p.

Amazing how much of a difference physx makes.
 
The game seems to run pretty well on my GTX470 (750/1600) with everything maxed out at 1080p. Unfortunately Afterburner's OSD doesn't seem to be working so I don't know exactly what my frame rate is, but it felt pretty smooth for the couple hours I played with my mate earlier. It did feel slightly juddery in places (as if I had lost a few frames), but it was still perfectly playable.

Also, despite getting a launcher error whenever I click "Play" (which I've found is attributed to the installation of the SMAA injector), the game is perfectly stable and I've not had any crashes or lock-ups.
 
asda are pretty reasonable cancel order get refund. order from gmg for 21 quid dl straight away ;)

argue you pre paid for having game on release . they cant really argue tbh

Oh they got sent a snooty email:

I placed an pre-order on the 16th of April this year for Borderlands 2 on PC and the money was taken immediately upon placing the order (which i wasn't too happy about as surely to take payment you have to be 100% sure you will get the item and deliver it to me!?) but since then there has been NO communication from yourselves regarding the order. The game was released today and disappointingly it didn't arrive. There has been no despatch email, no confirmation other than the order placed email in April, no email to say anything at all. When I checked your website I was extremely disappointed to see that 'Product not yet Despatched' and 'Awaiting Stock' were written large against the order. It would have been nice to be contacted to let me know this without my having to look! I could have ordered it from elsewhere, at a cheaper price and be guaranteed to receive it on the launch date had I known, but it would appear now you have my money you couldn't give a hoot! Perhaps it was too much to ask that you fulfil your part of the contract?

I've waited months for this game to launch and you haven't provided a copy, despite having my money for 5 months now. I would like an IMMEDIATE refund, OR a copy of the game, sent NEXT DAY Courier if you will have stock on Monday. If you do not have stock of the game for immediate despatch on Monday I will expect an immediate refund back to my card.

I don't mind how you contact me (although i wouldn't be surprised if you email to avoid the conversation!) but to not contact me to tell me that you either weren't getting stock or didn't know when you would to allow me to order from elsewhere and be given the option of either waiting or receiving a refund is perhaps too much to ask? Leaving me waiting, expecting it to be delivered on launch date when there are dozens of alternative retailers is atrocious customer service and I should know, I work in a Customer Service department!

I await your response.
 
The game is definitely harder than the original. I think part of it is that the difference between levels seems to have a much smaller effect. In BL1, a lvl2 Bandit when you were lvl9 wouldn't scratch you and you'd 1 shot them. In BL2 that same Bandit can still kill you pretty quick.

My Zer0 is badass on enemies with low hp atm. Only lvl8 but I've put a few points into his 'Killing Bl0w' skill so when they get below 25%, including bosses, I can just slash them down with my melee attack in no time.

Made a start on the co-op last night (~3hrs), group of 4 of us. It is more of the same, which is what I wanted really. Only had two people on the original so its good to start fresh with 4 online.
 
i am gettin this game i was thinkin about doin zer0 but my m8 is doing him and i want to do sumit different so whn we play as a team it will be better. i was thinking the commando. aint played the first 1 and was wondinger if this is a good choice :P

I'm enjoying zero to be honest the invisible side step and melee is excellent. get your accuracy and critical damage up and you can do some serious damage with a sniper
