Borderlands 3

£50 for regular edition, £65 for deluxe, and a time limited special deal of £85 for the super deluxe edition. I like the Borderlands games but not enough to drop that much day 1.
I agree....but the thing which is rerally putting me off is that we do not even know if that will be all the content. I always used to defend season passes. i liked them (still do when done right) as they are a way to know you will be getting any and all content that will come from the game. I hate buying half a game never knowing where it will end so i accept i pay more and buy the pass.

however BL2 was AFAIK the 1st game to release a truck ton of content outside of the pass. others followed suit such as Destiny, but BL2 did it 1st, thus now meaning i dont even tend to buy games and season passes any more. its good for me, i save money as i buy now when super cheap or a GOTY comes out.

 @ those prices. I thought competition with Steam was going to be better for us somehow? I'll dip out now and return in a year, at least they gave us BL1 remastered to play in the mean time I guess.

I'm sure there will also be a ton of cosmetic content that comes separately and probably at lot of other little things. We've all been trained to live with MTX now and they're going to want to extract as much profit as possible.

I'll give the Borderlands series this; their season passes are a rare example of actually adding a decent amount of additional content. Hopefully B3 is the same.

The pre sequels wasn't great at all for the price. They made a big deal about everything being included in the season pass as there was backlash over BL2 adding tons of other stuff outside the season pass. So I bought the season pass for the Pre sequel thinking there would be tons of content and it would be worth the price, but they just released a couple of small story missions and a couple of new characters.

Epic store fans were saying since they took a lower cut it would mean lower prices for consumers. Apparently not.

Yep, as if that was ever gonna happen, I'll wait 6 months, for it appear on steam, another month or so and it'll be in some sale or something and I'll get the game on my preferred platform, I can wait.

Epic games store IMO is not passing on anything to the consumer, if you MUST play game on launch day, then so be it, have to pay for it, but I can , like most wait for more choice on prices and platform . No issues to me.

I'm just going to hold out for reviews, I have a horrible feeling that the game will be affected by micro transactions. I hope that if micro transactions are present that they are purely cosmetic.

Tim Sweeney said so.

"after you go through several cycles of game developers making decisions, you're going to see lower prices as developers pass on the savings to customers, realizing they can sell more copies if they have a better price"

What 'several cycles' will be is anyone's guess.

I'll grab a key for it from cdkeys, like with Metro or something, probably be mid-high 30s

Just have to hope Epic doesn't introduce region-locked keys before then.

I mean it's 17 quid cheaper than on Epic and I picked it up but it isn't half the price :p

I've never understood the saying to be fair.. I mean, obviously its cheap at half the price, its half the price ! Maybe I'm not picking up the right meaning from the saying though :)

I had this same discussion recently about the saying "it went down like a lead balloon" , and how its always struck me as a daft saying because a lead balloon goes down very well , as its heavy and made of lead

Really looking forward to buying the GOTY edition for a tenner in about five years. Having said that, my Steam stats tell me that my Borderlands 2 problem is even worse than my Bejewelled problem. I know I kid myself that I use these things to unwind with on my laptop while half-watching telly, or for chewing up time when I'm trying not to chew up biscuits, but 576 hours, even spread over 4.5 years seems... a little excessive! Half of that might be my frustrated attempts to get through UVHM though.

I guess I could justify paying full price for this at launch, but... must resist! I have a library of unplayed games and of course I now have to do the enhanced Borderlands 1 again, just for the visual jollies. Makes this laptop chug a bit though!
