Borderlands 3

It does have PvP in the form of duels or arenas but they are just bonus things, nothing to do with the "real" gameplay. And it can be a grindfest if you want to go after specific weapon drops but otherwise you just do the missions, get the rewards, open chests as you go along.
Thanks! Looks like I have a new game to look forward to!

Ah I see, thanks.

Are borderlands games casual or competitive? Does it have PvP? Is it a grindfest?

I'm looking for a casual game to play solo when I have time.
Wow if you have not played Borderlands and like coop PvE you are in for a treat.
Play BL1 and BL2 1st they are cheap as chips. Not played pre sequel myself. But I hear it is not as.good as made.by different team

One issue with BL co-op is that the loot is shared. I hated that, which put me off playing with randos. If you have a couple of friends, it's a very good experience, although you'll need good dedicateion, and a few hours to get through it properly. In BL3 co-op, the loot will be assigned to each players individually, much better IMO and stops loot rats.

BL1 is so long ago I can't remember much of it, BL2 is the refined borderlands experience IMO, and you can start with that. BL1 is OK, a bit 'slow'. Pre-sequel is good enough, and can be a laugh. The BL2 DLCs are mostly good too (Tiny Tina, Torgue, The Pirate one, ...).

The starting campaign is quite easy. True Vault Hunter Co-op is how it's suppose to be played IMO. It's casual enough, and challenging enough. UVHM can be frustrating, and will require farming for items, especially in OP levels.

I prefer b1 goty to them all, the look of the game much better than the others as well, played like 40 hours in bl2, but wanted to try bl1 before bl3 come out, done like 30 hours and only level 20 so far, but i search and explore everything, i reckon at least a year before i get around to playing bl3 when its out.

@Rossi~

I don't trust that site as far as I can throw it. People don't even have to play the game to post an opinion. I bet half on Steam have never played past chapter 1. The vault hunters in TPS are fantastic. The settings and story are pretty cool for the Borderlands fan with a lot of insight into BL2.

I have all the Borderlands games and whilst TPS isn't as good as the "originals" its much better than the rabid reviewers gave it credit for when it was released.

TPS is fine, it was just what I needed when BL3 obviously was going to take a few more years.

I was missing playing a few BL3 maps and after not finding them in BL2 or the expansions, I realised they are in the TPS! Story with Jack was interesting too. Must replay it actually, if I escape BL2...

Athena is actually my second fav hunter after Gaige, I just really enjoyed going all Captain America on mobs :D

I quite liked TPS and playing as claptrap actually removes that often irritating oxygen mechanic so I recommend doing that. Also you just get to be claptrap which is always a good thing

Been playing the first Borderlands game (the new enhanced one) which is much better to play now. All the same bugs are there so they've altered some bits and not fixed anything. The old "drop through the floor in Fort Knoxx" trick still works so I had a good mooch about. Can you believe I found a Pestilent Defiler at level 22 and kept using it until I found a new version at level 65. There was no other weapon (for me as a Gunslinger Mordecai) that even came close.
