why do you need your isp to open ports?
 
I've been playing only the few hours and OMG Sledge was a PITA to kill with my hunter specialised in Sniper and Pistol. Had to incorp Shotgun now... still good fun :)

Long story but I live in an area without a broadband enabled exchange so the only option is a wireless internet provider and with them I have no control over which ports are open. According to their website they provide a "central firewall which will keep out direct attacks from the Internet to your computer (unless you have asked us to open ports direct to your machine)" So I need to ask them to open the ports for me.

I think I lean more towards soldier

Do I need to do the port forwarding to join the game?

Ive made the bindings for changing the FOV but when I press them nothing seems to happen, am I doing something wrong?

you sure you puit them in the right config file? :p

also mate put the mod in that disables ingame voice we'll use midnights vent, 1000x better

if midnight is leaning to brick, and you hunter we'll have a pretty good mix there, and as we're only going to be using these chars for MP, we can gear up thier skills for it (ie my hunter can increase exp gained by everyone for crits, solider can heal us opr get ammo :D)

Hunters can also heal with mods but thats at later lvls, i was in a high lvl grp last night, lvl 36-42, the mobs were bloody hard, in single player i was able to kill the skags with 1 shot crit with my 355 xplosive x3 sniper rifle, but in the coop i just irritated them and they munched thru my 655 shield and 680 health in no time. Also didnt help that the host was in america so was very laggy.
 
Ahh, thanks mate. To be fair they both had PlayerInput in the section title :)

Unless my landlord gives me the router login info I probably wont be able to set up the port forwarding, we'll see
 
I forwarded all ports for this game, even forwarded the BF2 ports.

The "Gameranger" program doesn't even let me join a game, let alone host one. I can join games, but still cannot host, people time out.... I've tested that all ports are open and Shields Up claims they are all stealthed.

Have no clue whatsoever why this game fails at hosting a game for me, I can host CoD servers fine and that needs port forwarding.
