Borderlands

So is this any good? Tempted by that price!

It's very fun with friends, has nice combat system which is similar to Gears of War multiplayer where you have to revive your teamates in time or they respawn at latest save point and lose 10% of their cash however if they kill someone within the revive time they can revive and fight on but with about 30% health.

The graphics are pretty good in my view, it has a unique look to it(looks a bit like a 3d comic or so?) plus the engine runs very well except for the few odd memory leaks which people have mentioned though i've only encountered them in a few areas in the General Knoxx expansion.

That said if you like combat fps games with good loot, funny characters and a game with a bit of originality then this is for you.

I have finished 1 playthrough on 360 and got half way through playthrough 2,

I really enjoyed the game so would you recommend getting it on pc now for £7ish ?

Does it add much over the 360 version? I have a good pc so running max shouldn't be a problem, Does it look much better?

Thanks

SPOILER:

Whats the deal with the ninja clap at the end?

Completed the game - what are the DLCs in order? and can I buy them from steam if my copy wasn't from Steam?

Anyone know how to get playthrough 2.5? got to beat Crawmerax on 2nd playthrough or is it another way?

Crawmerax? Lol no, you just finish the storyline on Playthrough 2 and it immediately takes upgrades to Playthrough 2.5, increasing enemy levels across the board. Think the same applies to Knoxx and Ned DLC individually after you complete the storyline.

I don't think you even have to kill the vault boss - you just have to unlock the vault. You can then abort and go on to do playthrough 2.5.

also it don't like ATI much althrough with a fight I got the bugger working without reinstalling the drivers...so be carefull people with ATI

most problems seems to be with the HD48XX or around that..

Have to say I'm addicted to this. First played it back in Oct 2009 as a soldier. I liked it but didn't love it. Now I'm playing as Lilith. Never realised the awesome power that she has with the elemental track - fire burst on entry/exit to Phasewalk, shocking people just by running past them and then corroding with her melee punch! Brilliant! Can't put it down. Just want to keep levelling up to gain an extra skill point. :D

I've killed knoxx 2nd playthrough and completed quest yet do not have it that's why i asked. :p

Nevermind i am guessing you are saying that playthrough 2 scales with level once you completed it.

Bought this and all the DLC in the steam sale. Went a bit mad and I've gotten to level 42 and completed the main story, all the side missions and the zombie DLC in 25 hours over the last 3 days. Whoops.

Although I really want to be level 61 and take on crawmerax. Damn this game.

Quite likely. Though scaling with level is slightly screwed thanks to the lvl61 max. The limit is still around 50 for the regular game i think which makes everything but Knoxx a cakewalk.

I've just downloaded the first DLC - Dr Ned.

Its the first time I've started the game since completing it and its asked me whether I want to do playthrough 1 or 2. Does it make any difference to the game playing it through again?

Just wondering if I should just carry on to the DLC content on my first playthrough.

Playthrough 2 = start the game again but at with higher level enemies
Playthrough 2.5 = complete playthrough 2 and the game changes to it, upping the enemies levels.

I can't remember what the level of the enemies is like on the Ned DLC but you're probably better off playing it on Playthrough 1. Playthrough 2 will be too high level, think they're around 41 i just can't remember if they scale on Playthrough 1 or not as i'm sure when i went on it it was ridiculously easy.

Is memory leak a problem with 10.6's? I've seen people talking about it but no idea if I have the problem....

Edit: Never mind, seems not. Hopefully 10.8 fixes it so I can upgrade..

How does this DLC work exactly?

Is it a series of new quests that appear in your mission logs? Are they set on Pandora? do you access the areas from within the existing game world as easy as travelling from New Haven to Rust Commons or are they totally separate and you load them in from the main menu?

Thanks.
