Borderlands

Yeah the base damage is really poor on the Hellfire but it certainly goes to town on fleshy enemies! :D My level 18 one STILL shreds things faster than most of my guns at level 43!
 
Ok.. just did a quest and to my surprise I found something really good in a white weapon chest.. unfortunately didn't take screen shoot direct but after when I compared to my present rifle. First I thought it was the same rifle but the one I found is very slightly better in stats, although not by much ! :p

But the info when equipping the rifles kept changing to lvl 30 from lvl 34.. dropping them both on the floor, they showing lvl 34.. but equipped as lvl 30... :confused: .. Is this normal or some update that was made later years ago that still hanging around ??

And found another legendary SMG, an acid one which is the first for me.

Have not been able to get into any new games for months – they all look pretty, but they’re missing humour or character or something and even cs:go is annoying me so I went back to BL2 with a character I hadn‘t played before - Krieg.

It is so good to be back in Pandora – even just watching the opening credits again with that lovely tune was better than some games I’ve played lately. Playing through this game again from the start is a joy – and it’s harder than I thought it would be – still getting killed a few times. Whata great game. It is so good to be back. I missed Jack.

Depending on what tree you build him on he's very squishy early on! Once you hit level 31 it's nothing but salt and wounds :D

Yes I can see what you mean, people were raving about him before but he’s not very durable at the start alright, although I haven’t even been using his kill skill and can’t really see the point of it yet! I miss my turret.
 
action skill you mean? It's quite easily the 2nd most powerful and tied for first one you hit 31!

left tree and run anything that supports blood bath and you'll slay everything :P
 
Phaselock is and always will be #1: Crowd control & outright enemy disruption, with the right COM automatic bullet reflection (very powerful with 2 sirens!) plus insane DPS boosts and healing all at the press of a button? SOLD!

i'm speaking from the single player only perspective, but i'll agree the phaselock can be specced very well towards crowd control. my current siren build can easily destroy a group of 10+ enemies with more ease than she could kill just 1 of the same enemy.

however, for bosses where the phaselock is removed, i've found it really weak by comparison.

i'd say gaige's skill is better, for a boss with ads deathtrap serves as both a boss distraction and a free easy res (especially for ads beyond noscope range) and i've had a much easier time playing against both groups of regular enemies and single tough enemies than i did as a siren. although admittedly this only counts for enemies where the "shoot em in the face point blank" tactic can be employed, but that does cover most of the bosses/enemies in the game.
 
i'm not so sure, after doing 3 playthroughs with maya i still feel she's very weak against a singular strong enemy, i'll grant that any group of enemies that can be phaselocked and drawn together are cut through like wheat but even a strong regular mob on their own is a challenge.
 
You must have overlooked (see what I did there :p) Thoughtlock. You can literally walk past enemies! :D

As for Krieg - keep at him and remember he pretty much flips the game on it's head. In his case you want your shields down, health as high as possible and to time everything carefully!

my combo was thoughtlock+converge+sub-sequence+helios+ruin

utterly devastating against groups of enemies, if they're weak enough to die to the phaselock you don't even have to do anything, if not then a copious amount of chain lightning grenades on the concentrated mass just kills everything.

however... any boss without ads or a lone strong enemy (especially when they can't be phaselocked) you've got no hope.
 
I bought the GOTY version of Borderlands 2 last week in the Steam sale. Been really enjoying it, up until two days ago when the game started to inexplicably CTD. I've tried verifying files and reinstalling but it's just not having it. 19 hours in as well, so can't even refund. All other games work and no changes have been made software / hardware wise, so I'm damned if I know what's going on.
 
Very strange with the CTD's - normally a very stable game (unless you exploit certain mechanics :p)! What area of the game are you in and when precisely does it crash? Any specific action that triggers it? :)

Oh and I'm sure I don't have to say it but I will anyway - are you SURE nvidia/amd/windows didn't do a sneaky drivers/update when you weren't looking? :p
