Borderlands

oh god, just completed first playthrough of the pre sequel with wilhelm, dunno if it's just me lucking out or him suiting my playstyle, but i just completed the final boss without hitting ffyl once, using just the e-gun laser, and not even sweating.....

this build is so badass right now it feels like cheating

Care to share the build mate?

http://thepresequel.com/Wilhelm/000000000005500111505100000000000/irogolem,auto

perks are like that, i'm running 3dd1.e oz kit (lv24 iirc), prismatic bulwark sheild, some random homing mirv grenade (barely use nades), and principally a lv24 e-gun as my primary, although i've got a tidy array of various purple/legendary guns on the rare occasion i run out of ammo/need to use elemental damage.

basically the laser damage is insane, against everything, and if i get damaged the 3dd.e generally refills my health/sheilds instantly whilst i wreak my revenge by adding freaking shoulder cannons to my freaking laser beam and if it doesnt then drones/health drops/perk healing/killing the bad quys quickly gets the job done.

compared to my previous attempts at the pre sequel with athena/nisha i didn't get on well.

how could you fail with Nisha? She's got an aimbot as a skill - pair that with Hyperion shotguns and it's not even a fair fight :p

not so much fail as just not get on with.

the problem i had with both athena and nisha is they just went down too easily, at which point skills are useless. i imagine they'd be much better in a party where athena doesnt need massive dps and nisha doesnt need to take hits.

this current wilhelm build just doesnt die

Going back to this on Steam after numerous playthroughs on Xbox 360 and PS4. Such a fun game the original is, playing 4K VSR with Reshade now though, 144fps no problemo, looks wicked

Been hammering this the past few weeks.
2 Liliths, level 54 and 69
2 Bricks, level 36 and 38
Mordacai, level 50
Roland, level 18.

Annoying thing with this game is mission rewards, usually half a dozen levels(at least) than the mission level, making most rewards pointless..

I played Borderlands 2 first before playing Borderlands 1 and remember being surprised at how much more difficult Borderlands 1 was compared to 2 at the beginning; I found myself having to use cover a lot which I don't remember really ever having to do in Borderlands 2...

I used to think Borderlands 1 was the best thing ever but looking back now after playing B2, I just don't like Lilith's skills - she's pretty weak (and less fun) compared to Maya and Roland's Scorpio turret is crap compared to Axton's. Brick I never ever played in my life as I thought he'd be a bit boring. Mordecai and Bloodwing are still the best especially when Bird of Prey is maxed out with class mod.

lillith was ok in a "run away and regen health" kind of way, although not as op at crowd control as maya.

out of all of them i think either mordecai or gaige was the most op in terms of feeling unbalanced levels of good.

I must try Gaige again now I can remap keys on PC. On PS4 I would always muck my anarchy up by reloading or picking things up.

tell me about it, i had to remap my reload key to o

tbf you can sort of get away with it if you're using jakobs shotguns that need to reload after firing anyway (and have massive damage) although nothing beats a torgue shotgun for gaige.

Hyperion shotguns + Gaige = super happy fun times!

Krieg is where it's at though :p

but not even a hyperion shotgun can counter 400 stacks of innacuracy :P

i do miss the maya playthrough i did, bosses/lone enemies were an absolute nightmare but man was the fully upgraded phaselock+bunch of legendary lightning bolts a satisfying way of mincing a crowd.
