boris johnson

its not over analysis, but when your representing the country at least make an effort thats all, the chinese and olympic members looked the part but boris even tried to put his hands in his jacket pockets

he looked like he'd been dragged out of the nags head to appear !

screw that - the Chinese guy looked the same as any other Chinese politician - humorless little man standing stiff in a suit - at least Boris has some personality

I'm concerned about how much value you people place on the cut of his suit :/
It was one of the first things I noticed when watching him walk out, how he managed to look like a bit of a scruff in a suit no less is quite a borisism, but I liked him in the post-ceremony speech posted previously.

Major of London, capital city of England taking the flag in front of hundreds of millions of viewers

I really shouldn't have to point it out :p If I was him I would put in a bit more effort not to look scruffy. You want to look your best when you go to business meetings or official events, right? So why not the Olympics closing ceremony and the official hand over of the much-vaunted flag to Britain?

Standards are slipping! People say 'oh we won't have a good olympics with all this negative attitude'

Wrong

We won't have a good olympics with all these low standards.

he didn't do it that badly.. quite well infact - don't see what the fuss is about other than his scruffy appearance. Typical BBC BS "analysis" on it.. idiots.

I think he's trying to say, in Welsh or something, that people are said to look their worst when in a suit. That is, of course, utter nonsense.

but a suit surely isn't when people look there best? i thought it's considered that this is when people looked there one of there worst actually

"But surely in a suit is where people look their best? "

This is all i could get from that..I think hes trying to say when people look bad in a suit it says something about their demeanour or somesuch??!?

Anyhoo, i think Boris did ok.

Im afraid the 2012 olympics will be a reflection of the 2012 logo... and we all love that dont we..

How can people in this country not be negative about something the goverment tries to do ? everything else is ill thought out, rubbish or costs us loads of money, im guessing the 2012 olympics will be all three
