Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

I used to have one a while ago, but the colour wasn't to everyones taste:

Also, I have a bcables cable and software and it works fine so go for it.

Phoenix Yellow is great, I just am not a fan of the somewhat matching leather colour lol!

Good lad,

Note I doubt you will be able to do the DME coding, that's much more advanced, and you can do serious damage to the car meddling in there

but if you must

I don't want to delve into anything too intricate, just the quick and basic codings but that's handy for future reference!

That's right up there with PMKeates's old beemer :p

The Orange 330? :p

Mine was more colourful ;)

The Orange 330? :p
Arizona Sun I'll have you know!

I'd happily drive a car with a bonkers colour scheme like that... Even if it's just to watch people go "... What on earth??" when they get in it. :D
Hah yes, full alcantara in 'bumblebee' colours was often a bit of a wtf moment :p

Still very much miss it.. my first RWD/reasonably powerful car, lots of fun moments aged 19 :)

‘Mintify’ progress.

Ordered a new pair of mirror glass from MirrorJohn – Pretty good price for good quality glass. Both mine have minor signs of water ingress on some edges of the glass and that bothers me. It also gives an opportunity to get some nice new mirrors with fresh heating elements and clean the innards of the wing mirror housing.

Worth noting, 2005+ M3s will have the heating elements on the opposite side to older models so those with older cars will need the extension wire. Also 2005+ cars have clip on mirrors instead of the old clip and twist mechanism.

I’ve also ordered a VM (OE part) left side kidney grille to replace the one I managed to get a large stone chip in over the past couple weeks using ECP’s current up to 50% off discount, came to £31 + an additional 5.05% cashback. Who said quality parts need to be expensive :p

Edit*
Parrot Asteroid Smart + Double Din fascia + CANBUS<>ISO interface ordered. Total cost £368. A nice saving over the Android. The final driving factor was seeing the Andrive website offline today. GUess they're all the same, could fold at any moment :S

At least Parrot is not going to go anywhere...

Next week will be a busy week of DIY.

Mrk could you do a log of your parrot installed, very interested in something like this myself, currently I have a Parrot MK9100 installed I'm thinking of removing as it is old tech now..

Sure thing, I will do a pictorial log. Finding a log online isn't easy. Plenty of partial pics and info but nothing complete considering there are lots of people with the Smart install especially over in the States!

I got given some useful info on cutters though by a member who has it on his. I need to pick up some metal brackets from Halfords to retrofit the existing single din cage post-modding to hold the Smart in it then screw the double din fascia to the existing cage for a secure and flush fit.

In my head I've done the DIY and it all fits and looks good. Let's see how accurate that is in practice :p

Give this stuff a try on your rubber window seals:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EINSZETT-GUMMI-PFLEGE-STIFT-RUBBER-CARE-STICK-/390397740572

Very useful on all rubber seals, but especially for frame less windows - keeps the rubber fresh, supple and lubricated. Stops the windows sticking to the seals in freezing conditions; it might help reduce the creak you're experiencing, but even if it doesn't, it's a good product for rejuvenating ageing seals.

Just to update on this, what black magic does this stuff employ?! It has made all creaks around the roof and windows go awayt! It's still early days so will give it time to see how much rejuvenation work it does to the rubber but so far I am very impressed.

I have since applied it to all rubber seals around the car now
