Bought an old BMW M3, filled with regret...

One touch 3x indicators is definitely one that would be nice to have. Alright, if you can see if M-Track can be enabled too that would be great.

Just did one touch indicators.

You need to check your module is capable of it. Only late 2005 and 2006 ones are, according to everywhere (Coding Index of 36 or 37), as these are the only ones to have the "CYCL-TI-BLK" entry. I checked mine thinking it'll never be compatible, but found mine to be CI 36 and it did have the CYCL-TI-BLK entry.

Changed this entry from one to "dreimal" (3 times in German). Coded it.

And it came up with "CODING FAULTY" and some stuff in German. Crapped myself.

Tried the indicators and they work!

Tried the lights and everything else seems to work. Wonder if it threw a bit of a hissy fit because I had done a bit of coding in Navcoder?

Who knows, as long as everything still works, i'm not complaining.

Had a price list and options available for the guy who can reprogram stuff, I've bolded the stuff that sounds most interesting for me, some I already have so looks like previous owner did do some stuff at one point.

I don't like using the 'fake' Sport mode but am interested in seeing what teh curve adjustment does.

I'll get those done when I'm next in the area, no rush :p

I highly recommend adding Mirror memory position adjustment when in reverse.*. I absolutely adore this feature on the Cayman, so useful when parallel parking allowing you to get nice and close without risking your alloys, and bay parking to ensure you're straight.

* Assuming it works similar to Porsche's system

It does, and I agree it's fairly awesome, I definitely miss this feature :)

I already have that one :)

Gaygle, so I'd much prefer to go the NCS and Navcoder route and DIY then. Thanks for the screens too. What cable do you use btw?

FYI nothing about NCS Expert is initially easy :p

Nope, absolutely correct, which is why I haven't touched it in over 3 years of having it.

Took the plunge today though, sat down and read some of the guides and just followed them point by point. Razza77's guide was good on M3Cutters/E46Zone.

I've got the BMTechnic cable - BMTechnic have folded now though :(

Massive shame as they had some clever people who made everything into one easily package, that installed everything automatically and it works on Windows 7 perfectly.

There must be something out there that has replaced BMTechnic as the preferred cable, but I would definitely get one. I have diagnosed so much, so quickly with the cable and INPA/DIS and now I know how to do some basic coding. All for £30!

Oh bummer :(

Looks like this is a stable alternative: http://www.bcables.com/

Failing that, it still appears ivinni BMWhat for Android is usable with their own cable. It does diagnostics with friendly test reporting and coding: http://www.ivini-apps.com/coding.html

I'd buy the cable, its fun to learn the programming and its good to clear annoying faults, I used to get the ABS/Wheel alignment fault fairly regularly, when the tyre reset trick failed out came the trusty laptop and cable, shame you are so far away I'd happily code everything for you for free :)

I sold my house on Monday and we are upsizing, so I need all the money I can get and subsequently won't be able to buy a 6 series. So after reading this thread it's reignited my E46 M3 passion and I am definitely buying one now.

What have I started :o

That's very nice of you to offer dude thanks! Sadly distances are too high but I'm happy to order the k-line cable+software package from bcables.com. Comes to less than £30 for the lot but I'll also activate the full version of Navcoder for 20 Euros too. Seems a fair deal!

I used to have one a while ago, but the colour wasn't to everyones taste:

Also, I have a bcables cable and software and it works fine so go for it.

Good lad,

Note I doubt you will be able to do the DME coding, that's much more advanced, and you can do serious damage to the car meddling in there

but if you must
